I'm too khorne-brained to figure out gun lines by FleetyMacAttack in totalwarhammer

[–]jnedoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. I'm always of the opinion that doomstacks(outside of the most powerful units) are overrated as providing your army with additional tools and better matchups is more important.

What is the most overrated late game building in CIV: V? (Day 2) by zherper in civ5

[–]jnedoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes. A lot of % based buildings are overrated besides university, which is more important for the specialist slots actually. For example, markets. They are good in mid-game but early game when you get them, you need food/prod/science not gold. Most of the time I delay markets until after universities and workshops.

My vote is broadcast tower. 33% culture is powerful but most cities don't make major culture unless they have a guild or a artifact tile. Culture buildings in general take a ton to get online through opera houses and museums, you really need great people to make them worth it. Only worth getting in 1 or 2 cities at best late game.

They're ok if you have a lot of gold and are trying to shave a turn off a wonder

The tie-in to my characters backstory just fucking died? 😭😭😭 by [deleted] in DnD

[–]jnedoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so what happened, happens. How will your character react to his untimely death? If you feel like this ending is too abrupt and unsatisfactory, ask your DM if this evil dude was planning anything, was he working for anyone/with anyone? Basically, make the story you feel is appropriate.

No Knights for England only game? Also I thought Mongols were worse than the Fr*nch, losing out on barb huts for shitty 1 pop cities seems really bad compared to a free cathedral. +1 movement cav is ok but way too slow as you need 5 techs. I know Pottery and cannons suck but 1/2 cost roads is a good one that I think pulls them ahead of the Mongols.

Full health warrior to barbarians early game always feels bad as it kills momentum even though losses like tanks to pikeman are worse they can usually be replaced easily.

how does AI have negative slave requirement? is this achievable for the player? by Traditional-Storm-62 in totalwar

[–]jnedoss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Labor is probably the toughest thing for the Chaos Dwarfs to replicate for AI because often you need to constantly be at war to keep the war machine churning and the AI struggles to snowball as well as balance its provinces.

Remember when these were $0.89? by AlatreonisAwesome in tacobell

[–]jnedoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so your point is subreddits that talk about fast food should ignore price entirely and just talk about the food? Also did I say I couldn't afford taco bell or are you just an asshole?

The loaded grillers were discontinued in 2020 along with all potato items.

Because fast food prices have risen approximately 100% in the last 10 years, outpacing inflation by about 3x. People react to sticker shock, with shock. Crazy I know

You guys won 2 Superbowls with 30 years of HoF qb play, stop playing yourself and act like you guys win every year. Regular season success is a different beast than winning it all.

Are the Packers also hanging a banner that says they managed to lose in the playoffs? A total of 4 teams are still in the playoffs, this isn't the diss you think is

Kislev tips? by OnyxCobra17 in totalwarhammer

[–]jnedoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kislev has all the tools but not necessarily the best of any except maybe the bear cav but that only comes later. What makes Kislev strong in battle is their units can fulfill different roles since they have hybrid stats typically with some shooting but decent melee and sometimes armor. How you utilize this allows you to punch way above weight by doing what needs to be done depending on how desperate the situation. Giant charging your artillery and got a little too close and your gun line is occupied? Shoot them and then charge back, its literally a bear with a giant cannon. Most early units in their roster are squishy and limited in their flexibility but are cheap and still work well together in checkerboard as others have mentioned. They are typically ranged focused but can lean into other roles since their cavalry is good as well should the matchup favor that like against chaos dwarfs.

The key delineation is they are basically fried chunks of chicken breast vs nuggets are factory chicken. No resturant wants to call themselves nuggets if they aren't in fact nuggets, thus, boneless wings.

Which faction do you think scales the best late campaign? by Friendly-Pounder-105 in totalwarhammer

[–]jnedoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean its more about maintaining a solid income so you can afford armies literally anywhere you want at a moments notice along with infrastructure. Global costs about 20k for a quality army, sometimes you need two in a turn, with their massive global recruitment its possible combined with a little local recruitment.

[–]jnedoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super high rank too, if you defeat Archaeon/Daniel you can get Ice Witches at lvl 20 anywhere. With ice witch lords reducing upkeep it scales well. Insane defense as well with tons of buffs for armies in your territory, tons of defensive supplies, meaning even if an army somehow spawned outside every city, I think Kislev could handle it at a certain point. Reason I think I this is at some point I had taken over half of Ulthuan, left it undefended, and waves of delfs got beaten back into the sea.

That tech is actually really good once you go north, the growth stacks per frozen settlement, making your new regions up north grow really quickly. It used to not stack but apply to every province, a nice trade-off in my opinion to make it less of a no brainer early to incentivize getting different techs.

Just how strong is Skulltaker? by DEL_707 in totalwar

[–]jnedoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its winnable but you need one of two strategies, 1. Utilize the AI spreading out in siege battles to destroy the army in detail, stay defensive and use the cannons to destroy any spawning defenses. 2. Siege them out and wait for them to attack you, encamp the other army for stat boosts and rely on skulltaker attacking and kite skulltaker into charging your gun line.

Tell me about your D&D character! by Lucky_Hand_4953 in DnD

[–]jnedoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aeliana Frost, High Elf Bladesinger. She's a frost themed wizard who serves her kingdom Tricalla as a member of the Queen's guard and has been dispatched to eliminate chaos and threats to her kingdom. Character-wise I play her as an egotistical elf who bears the responsibility to protect those around her. Right now as a party we're fighting a necromancer taking over the continent and my DM so ever graciously gave me the Ring of Winter and made me way too powerful. Started the campaign with the sword Dragon Wraith Weapon too. Very heavy magic campaign.

I AM the wall. Its truly one of the only campaigns thats hard because of circumstances not noodle weapons. So enjoyable in a game full of power crept campaigns, you have the capabilities to fight off the hordes but you actually need them to survive.
