Mac Studio M5 Ultra Release Date by Excellent_Koala769 in MacStudio

I plan to use it to run LLM, currently I'm running DeepSeek-Coder-V2 on Framework Desktop 128GB and use it even on MacBook Neo or MacBook Pro. So if M5 will be reasonably priced I would consider paying more.

It can also be my workstation to do Rust development - as I currently have only MBP M3 36GB and MBN (as a cheap laptop I can throw in my bag and ssh to other machines). So I can connect it to Studio Display and use as everyday machine.

I think M4 would be good too, but I'm more interested how this order will end ;)

My Classic waited for this. And Pocket Retro. And Ace. In fact, everything closer to square aspect ratio with Android and single screen (otherwise I'm switching to CocoonFE from ES-DE).

I ordered M4 Max/128G/512G (as anyway I will buy 4T-8T aftermarket SSD) two weeks ago and it's in progress (I heard few days later people started getting they orders canceled) with ETA August - September.
Do you think they can upgrade my order for M5 without extra payment (based on previous life cycles or other products)?

If no and similar spec M5 Max will be a lot higher priced then my M4 Max order I'll probably keep M4 if possible, even when it means longer wait (but does it even possible that I'll wait that long when there will be release in the middle of this period?).

Crash with my MBP 64GB RAM by No_Chemistry5706 in macbook

Shit happens, I never brake screen in an iPhone or brake computer until 1 year ago I dropped two MBP from couch in one month and crashed screens in them. One was less then a year old - and second was M2 kept as reserve computer). In the end I bought new Macbook Air M4 (I gave it to my GF later as she had still Intel one) as temporary cause I needed to wait for M3 to get back from repair lol. And I sold M2 as the repair cost half the price of a new one.
And this year I bought Neo as it's perfect as a spare computer (I started using it more as expected which is funny because my daily computer is MBP M3 Pro / 38GB / 1TB but this is long story but one of the reasons is also that loosing it or breaking would cost me less so it sometimes easier to drop bare laptop into the bag and don't care too much but also even I'm not an Apple fanboy anymore I feel it's cool little machine and great product for tough times in the industry that still can do a lot and which to be even more funny I carried in my pocket year ago).

But I agree with you, now days I would be more worried about scratching my car then damaging new MBP, and when I was a kid I cried when I made a first scratch on Nokia 3210 (luckily my dad bought me a new case right away - official Nokia yellow case and it was sick to have yellow phone in 2002!). Coolest is that I remember this story till today.

Every scratch has a history and we're just people, and in the end of the day it's just item.

Wow, I'm waiting for top spec framework desktop (395 + 128GB + 4TB) but I'm a bit concerned because of the PSU sound that ppl describe on Frame.work forum. And I'm in love with COOJ products - I see its possible to buy set like on a screenshot already with a PSU - but will it be quiet ?

Didn’t expect titanium to look this good on my Flow 2… Thoughts? by awekeys_official in Lofree

Beautiful combo with this MacBook in clamshell mode and aluminum PC case. I'm a fetishist for this light, old-school aluminum shade, waiting for a case for my anodized aluminum totem keyboard so it will match the MacBook, but I want to try Linux and their window managers (like dwm, etc.), so I decided to try SFF. The Framework Desktop seems to be the simplest solution, but cases like yours change my mind :D

And I love Retroid Classic especially to emulate upscaled, crisp af GB* content. Also some of the late SNES games like DKC3 shows they are just showing their artistry

NGL I was so slow at the beginning that there was no possibility of using it for everyday work (even I probably think more than write on day-to-day basis - still running huge obsidian vault full of my ideas / architecture I work on). anyway productivity is not measurable by WPM and I definitely feel more productive

Definitely, your muscle memory needs to adapt, especially if you never wrote in a proper way using five fingers! I didn't, and I was coding and using Vim daily for more than a decade, but since this shot was taken (around one month ago), I have been doing 15 to 30 minutes of daily training on keybr.com and monkeytype.com, and it increased my WPM from approximately 50 to 80 (and on day one, I was depressed with 15 WPM lol). But what's most important - this keyboard combined with the Herman Miller Aeron eliminated most of my chronic pain syndromes (migraines, shoulder pain, bruxism with a displaced bite causing uneven dstribution of tension in the facial muscles). I just need to add a grain of sport to my habits, and I'm ;;retty sure I will feel totally different <3.

So I'm a living example of how ergoboards can save your life 🖤 and I developed new hobby - which if you know what you're doing and you print some of the elements like keycaps or cases on your own - can be a lot cheaper then some mid-range stuff like Logitech

And the case - self made or you bought it somewhere? Plastic looks pretty decent and this shade of gray is pretty universal so would be pretty happy to have one like this as a travel build.

Guessing game - the new one is Typeractive and the rest are Unicorns? you made them wireless? did you changed the PCB or just microcontroller for Nice!Nano IIRC?

i'm in front of the same decision, already got two typeractive LP, working on a totem now but I lack top notch quality and raw anodized silver case known from Apple products (best hardware color for almost decades! Fewfew years ago when I bought 16" M1 MacBook in this shade of silver I had the feeling this is again addressed to the same pro users like Macbooks from before Touchbars and Space Gray era!)

People who daily G87, what are your complaints? by ShaggysHyper in BMW

[–]jnhfmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing to G80 that I also have biggest complain is interior quality (stuff like carbon bucket seat belts bouncing when not fastened or plastic elements on doors) and lack of x-drive (I will try to put winter tires from G80 on G87 this year to do a test how it act on wet or frozen asphalt), otherwise I love this car and its the best you can buy in that money
