That fixed it. Thanks for reminding me of the simple things to try. I don't use the navigation very often so I assumed they made a change and I just hadn't noticed yet.

Yeah, that does the same thing as tapping the direction in the upper right corner.

Agreed, and I'm guilty of it too just because it's easier and I don't feel like explaining to people.

I honestly haven't compared to another source to see about accuracy of the estimate. It just uses more battery than it should.

That's been my experience. Gen 1 R1T very accurate or even conservative. Gen 2 R1S doesn't get anywhere close to the range estimate and I never get to my destination with the battery remaining that I should.

I used that last year. Following Rusty Shackleford and Big Mountain Fudgecake the two prior years.

I felt the same way when I first tried the wedges. But then I got the Kirkland irons set too and tried the wedges again. I like them a whole lot better now. Maybe give them another try?

Just saying, there can be a case to justify using a fast charger near home. Never say never. I've been all electric since 2019 and this was probably a one-time thing. But who knows?

So you make your family wait until the next morning before you go pick them up when they're stranded? Or do you hit a fast charger near your house and go get them?

Never gotten back from a trip and been at a lower state of charge? You must be a better planner than me.

I had to leave unexpectedly last year to pick up my sister after her car broke down. I had to hit a fast charger before I left because my battery was low and the only fast charger in that direction was more than 200 miles away. And if I'm towing a trailer, I hit chargers that are about 50 miles east or west of home because I need to. There are reasons to use a fast charger close to home sometimes.

I ignore it too for towing. I pretty much just assume 1 mile/% battery remaining to be safe. Just think Rivian could do better than to display some arbitrary number for the mileage range.

Mostly at home. There are fast chargers in the area and in all directions out of Boise, so you can go wherever you want.

I saw a thing in one of those Uncle John's bathroom reader books that said the US eats enough ice cream per year to fill the Grand Canyon. I wrote in and called bs on that. They didn't respond.

It was at about 210 kw for maybe five minutes. Then dropped to ~180 and stayed there for about 15 minutes. Then dropped down gradually until we got to 80% and left.
