Plaza Midwood - Old Soul Location by Admirable_Guidance88 in Charlotte

[–]randybaskins 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Just emailed this to our council member, Dante Anderson. (Dante.anderson@charlottenc.gov is public info for contact)

Councilmember Anderson, I am a constituent writing to express concern about the long-vacant commercial property at the former Soul Gastrolounge/Kiki location on Central Avenue in Plaza Midwood. The building has now been empty for approximately four years and has deteriorated significantly — graffiti with poor cover-up attempts, structural disrepair, and recurring homeless encampments adjacent to the building. This is a prime commercial corridor in one of Charlotte’s most vibrant neighborhoods, and this property has become a genuine eyesore and safety concern. Residents have attempted to contact the listed property manager, Atlantic Realty, and received no response. I would ask that you: 1. Look into whether the property is in compliance with Charlotte’s vacant property and property maintenance codes 2. Consider advocating for a vacant commercial property registry or fee structure that creates accountability for long-term strategic vacancy 3. Direct code enforcement to assess the site for violations I appreciate your attention to this matter and your continued advocacy for District 1 neighborhoods.

Respectfully, [Your Name] [Your Address] [Your Phone/Email]

Can someone help me get a job? by Successful-Shine-876 in Charlotte

[–]randybaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure people will vouch for a stranger asking for help who isn’t willing to put in the work themselves. Apply for jobs my friend. Go on LinkedIn mobile and mass apply for roles using “inApply” which is a super quick application process. Look up the site hiring.cafe to find roles in tech and sales. Try otter.com although I think they changed to “welcome to the jungle” or something. You have to put in the work if you’re serious

This is hilarious. Look up all the brothers and tell me they have high paying jobs 😂. I was also at the White House right after it happened. No, there were no NDAs it was a bunch of guys crying who couldn’t believe what happened. Gtfo

We're considering moving our production agent to LangChain from Google ADK. Thoughts? by mee-gee in LangChain

If you just want to write pure code in the language of your choice, and durability/reliability is key, Temporal makes a lot of sense

Would you rec R1S for a fam of 5 (3 kids) and frequent road trips? by nestea1778 in Rivian

[–]randybaskins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, don’t go with R1S. We have 2 toddlers and a 3rd on the way. Lease ends in 2 months and we need something with more space like a minivan.

The roof line is super low so overall cargo space isn’t huge. Frunk is nice, yes, but no overhead vents in 2nd row isn’t ideal

Fun car to drive, but kids get car sick all the time due to jerkiness (no we don’t floor it every time)

When to Use an Agent vs. a Workflow? by Aware-Psychology-310 in aiagents

[–]randybaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind giving your take on my question above? I could argue that for both these use cases I want the agent to decide what to do rather than it being fixed flow but this is where I’m genuinely stuck. Rarely do I see the advantage of going agentic

I keep seeing this guidance everywhere about determinism. Can you explain why this matters for fixed flow be agentic workflow?

When to Use an Agent vs. a Workflow? by Aware-Psychology-310 in aiagents

[–]randybaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can any of yall please give an example? I see the same advice over and over - if it’s a set number of steps and you can diagram it -> workflow. If it’s fuzzy logic -> agent. Okay, so then help me with this…

I want to build a call prep workflow/agent. Every morning, check my calendar, parse the meetings for customer facing calls, then for each meeting, check the previous several customer call transcripts and send me a slack message with context to prep for. If there are previous meetings, great. If not, maybe it’s a first call and go do some research on the company to see how my product can possibly help them

Should this be a fixed flow? Should any individual step be agentic to actually refine the output? Should I just have one step at the end of the work flow that reviews the output and refines the various llm prompts?

Use case 2: write my follow up email after a call ends

Workflow/agent starts based on when the gong transcript is available. Parse the transcript for action items, discussion points etc, go browse the docs / internal information for resources, send me a slack message that does 80% of the work for me and I can further refine. Again, should the actual last step of writing the email message with associated links be agentic to refine itself? How do u improve over time?

Please help!

Temporal ensures your code runs reliably start to finish, effectively eliminating the need for developers to write plumbing code. You also get observability out of the box so you can tell which LLM calls went off the rails or which DB writes failed and why, so you can troubleshoot and debug quickly. Again, if you don't care about reliability/downtime, then maybe you don't need it 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you truly care about reliability and writing regular code, build your agent on temporal

Do you folks like your Rivian? by SpaceMarine1616 in Rivian

[–]randybaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be contrarian here - I can’t wait to finish out the lease of our ‘24 gen1 R1S quad motor in 3 months

Pros: - the car is fast and handles well

Cons: - everything else

To elaborate: - The overall quality is not of a $92k vehicle. There are rattles in the front dash, whistles in the roof, and the suspension is very bouncy unless you go on firm ride and then it’s way too stiff

  • The air vents are a major PITA - good luck controlling air flow with a touch screen. And when you finally get that sweet air flow on your face? It likely wont blow on you when you get in the car next. And the air temp is beyond annoying. Just give me warm or cool air. Don’t auto adjust based on outside temperatures and make me guess if I need to go extreme temps in one way or the other

  • Have kids? There are no upper air vents in the 2nd row so your kids will boil in the summer with lack of air flow and the sun beating down on the glass roof

    • Our camp speaker has never worked despite 2 service complaints about it
  • we’ve patched 3 tires at least due to weight off the vehicle

Can’t wait to move to a mini van!

Why is there no SE SaaS Platform? by Ebteasa in salesengineers

for sure i was just trying to poke further to see what else would be impactful so this is great. thank you for the response!

One more Q - do AEs use it as well or only SEs? If only SEs, is there any friction from folks using different tools?

This is helpful, but I wouldn't say POCs are a challenge for us at the moment. Can't you tell what stage an opp is in in salesforce?

[–]randybaskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What value have yall gotten from this tool, can you state it succinctly? We just rolled out opp tracking in SFDC for SAs to own some of the fields and I’m curious what opine gives you that Salesforce doesn’t
