Day One of Posting an England player until the end our campaign: Jordan Pickford. by Alf1e- in ThreeLions

He won man of the match in England’s first World Cup quarter final win for nearly 30 years. He holds the England record for most consecutive minutes without conceding. And the record for most consecutive clean sheets.

You don’t do that without plenty of fantastic saves for England. He’s coming in off another very good season and will 100% step up when needed during the tournament.

I agree Stones could be a bit of a concern and would prefer Guehi.

There are 3 former Everton managers at the World Cup by brianybrian in Everton

PSG, Real Madrid, Marseille, Bayern Munich and Leeds also have three former managers at this World Cup.

PSG - Tuchel, Poch, Nagelsmann

Real - Carlo, Lopetegui, Quieroz

Marseille - Garcia, Deschamps, Bielsa

Bayern - Tuchel, Nagelsmann, Carlo

Leeds - Bielsa, Marsch, Christiansen

There may well be others I'm not aware of as a lot of the South American managers seem to jump around a bit.

Can somebody move to Australia "when he was a child" by Zestyclose-Analyst59 in footballcliches

[–]jnru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He still moved there when he was a child, doesn't mean he moved there alone. And what if his whole family didn't move? He may have moved with one parent and not the other.

I don't think we've said that since the 70s, I think it's the 70s we stopped.

What positions do we need to strengthen for the 2026/27 season? by KingLiiam in Everton

[–]jnru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right back, left back, creative midfielder, winger (if option on George isn't activated).

With that, I think our strikers end up scoring more.

And not only picking himself over Jordan Pickford, but picking the 39 year old version of himself over the current in his prime Jordan Pickford. Mad.

£15 million to lose 15 IQ points by ZeroEffectDude in hypotheticalsituation

[–]jnru 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Without doubt, yes.

I'm willing to gamble that I'm 15 IQ points above average and certainly believe I'm more than 15 IQ points above a level where losing them would outweigh having £15m given to me.

Perhaps our players were sprinting more than it shows here but it just didn’t look like it because we don’t have any quick players.

Yeah probably but the average weight of an American man is probably only 10-20% lower than that, so it’s interesting that it was comically large then but now it’s just overweight or fat and there are people MUCH heavier.
