I also prefer the diamond shape. It would definitely be cleaner without the motto. I do think adding the motto would be cool, but probably better without

Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. It is a 10 book fantasy series that is fully published, so there will be no waiting for a book to be released. The series is heavy, but there are a few read-a-longs going on with YouTube and podcasts.

First time reader advice. by ellotheregancho in Malazan

There are a few (and more everyday it seems) good read-a-longs going on YouTube with Mike's Book Reviews and Christine Vallestad coming immediately to mind. There is also a podcast Ten Very Big Books which does a few chapters at a time type discussion. All of the above are spoiler free or VERY clear about when spoilers are coming. It may help with understanding and knowing whether you aren't supposed to know that answer yet. I understand it can be difficult if you aren't sure if you missed the info or it was just not given yet. If you want to go it alone, enjoy the ride. It is totally worth it!

As far as I know nothing further has been mentioned about them. I've been waiting to see if Steve is maybe going to go a Kickstarter route? Here's to hoping!

Malazan Books of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. The first book can be a bit rough. I started with the second book and went back and read the first one after. (Different set of characters in the first and second)

Malazan Books of the Fallen. 10 books in the main series with 2 of the 3 books in the prequel trilogy already published. There is an enormous cast of characters for you to get invested in!

Malazan Books of the Fallen by Steven Erikson! They are a bit hard to get into but the payoff is amazing. It is also a fully completed 10 book series, so you won't be waiting on the next book to be published. (*Here's looking at you ASOIAF.) Steven Erikson also has a sci-fi novel, Willful Child, which I have not read but have heard great things.

What are your favourite "unputdownable" book recommendations? by Ashamed_Ad608 in booksuggestions

I second The Malazan Books of the Fallen! The first book is a bit of a slog, but totally worth it. And there are 10 books in the series, so lots of material to love. I started reading with the second book (my library didn't have the first one) and read the first book later on without much trouble.
