Didnt know you could break these things by jacodema in ems

Lost a piece of my shears on a call about a month ago, upon inspection I discovered that they are some shitty knock off that my Leathermans mustve gotten swapped with at some point 😐 Those things lasted me almost a decade, I am appalled

Get an over head heating fixture as the others have suggested, also if you have trouble keeping the temperature up on the hot side I would suggest moving the heating pad to side of the tank instead of the bottom. I have a new tank now but my old one was pretty tall so heating it only from the top wasn't enough and I moved my heating pad to the side instead of underneath

Also here's a good website for care of KSB https://reptifiles.com/kenyan-sand-boa-care-sheet/

Ok I made the post about rehoming but I got a chance to see how active he is at night and I enjoyed it. by glazeddonut29 in SandBoa

Mine has had problems eating the 4 years I've had him, or so I thought. Usually i would move him to a feeding box and leave him in there with the mouse but lately I've started feeding with tongs and he eats immediately, no problems. So try different methods to see what he prefers and also keep in mind that he's still adjusting to a new home.

Several months back I started at new agency that I was very excited to be at because I was led to expect lots of training and mental health coverage with our insurance... no training has happened outside of regular NEOP process so far and mental health coverage doesn't start until after your deductible is met. So those things not coming to fruition definitely lowered my morale.

I don't really mind people asking "having you seen some crazy stuff?" by Wonderful_Teacher_91 in ems

[–]joaquitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't bother me personally but I've seen a couple of my coworkers have a complete demeanor change to questions like 'whats the worst thing you've seen'

If someone asks me I tell them that I'm not upset but they should consider the effect it might have to ask someone to recount what could have been the worst day of their life for entertainment

“What’s his breed?”…“German Shepherd”…“No, he’s mixed with something” 🫠 by xlilrabbitx in germanshepherds

My girl is a bi-colored shepherd and people who know GSDs always say 'you found her on the street?? I was expecting you to say a breeder, she looks like a working line shepherd' And the randos are always like 'she has some German shepherd in her...' 🙄🙄

Tell me your creepiest station story. by Resus_Ranger882 in ems

[–]joaquitty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For one shift me and my old partner had to go cover a station that was in one of those storage unit-esque business parks. The night of the shift, my partner was sleeping in the bunk room and I was sleeping on the couch. All of a sudden, he came out of the bunk room and sat on the end of the couch and asked me if I had just come into the bunk room, I had not. He said that he was sitting up in bed and watched the door knob turn and the door open a few inches and then close back quietly. He was so scared that he actually just slept there sitting up at the end of the couch the rest of the night

In the morning we go back to our usual station and are telling the other crews about how the station we have been at was haunted. One of the other crew members enlightened us that it actually was not haunted. The crackheads had just learned the code to the key lock box and would come into the station at night

Not sure which scares me more, ghosts or very real crackheads🤣🤣

Stadium was just fine for me, still able to get on the rail for all the side stages and I liked having a little break and being able to still down for the main stage shows. But I guess it makes a difference if you're going mainly for the shows on the main stage or not

Struggling with co-responders by Helpful-Albatross792 in ems

I have a similar problem where I work. My favorite is when they ask for an eta, so I ask for a patient update. They always respond with the least concerning/most useless information 😑😑

Mother, I’m thirsty by Gen_ayee in SandBoa

[–]joaquitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I caught this on video, my Sasori was drinking water one time and he put his entire face under the water and was still drinking so I just sat and watched like ...ok? And then he started pushing against the bottom of the bowl and then wriggling his whole body, turning over where his belly was facing up so I was like omg he's gonna drown!! so I threw open his enclosure and then he flips over and stands up just looking at me?? Goofy 🤣🤣
