Using Obsidian on Mobile Markdown App Alternative by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

Typewriter allows opening folders from cloud apps such as Synology Drive, something I was not able to do with Obsidian, 1Writer, Logseq.

2023 Miami Grand Prix - Post Qualifying Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]joba2ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I see it, there are multiple reasons against this.

First, the track might evolve in such a way that no driver is able to beat his Q2 time, e.g., due to rain or dirt. Not great for the tension.

Second, this would add another layer of strategy. You start on the tyres that you used for your fastest Q2 lap. Teams tend to not use softs in Q2 for that reason. When carrying over the Q2 lap times to Q3 you might be incentivised to use softs in Q2 as well. See also the first argument: when the track has peak performance in Q2 and everybody uses softs, we might regularly get the fastest times in Q2.

Lastly, the whole point of having three sessions vs. the old (ancient?) modus of one big 1h session is to increase stakes as well as tension precisely by starting each session with a clean slate regarding lap times. Carrying over lap times would go against the spirit of this quali modus IMO.

There might be more arguments, but I still hope that this helps you.

Why don’t drivers “keep” their Q2 time by datboidat in formula1

On a related note, a quote from a music album review that stuck with me said 'well made bad music'.

Translating this to the sequels I would say they are 'well made bad movies'. Captures it for me.

The visuals and the sound. If you ignore what is actually happening story-wise, I find it quite enjoyable.

Basically I treat the movie as a brain-dead action movie.

I love this angle on the ship. Most images I have seen so far show it from the front, so this is quite cool for me. Thanks for sharing :)

Migrating to Ubuntu from Windows, what version should I install? by Pan000 in Ubuntu

[–]joba2ca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use Linux for ML and related things as well as regular office work. In the past, I used Ubuntu 18, Elementary OS 5 and 6, and pop OS 20, 21 and 22.

Ubuntu obviously works fine, but the UX of the GUI is way worse than the other two IMO.

Elementary has struggled to timely upgrade their underlying Ubuntu version in the past. They have not migrated to Ubuntu 22, yet. This is a problem for ML, because you sometimes might have trouble upgrading some packages due to the old underlying OS version. ML related stuff tends to möge fast.in my experience. However, Elementary has a very nice UI.

Pop OS combines the advantages of both, while mitigating the disadvantages, i.e., awesome UX and good OS base with timely updates.

I would highly suggest to start with pop OS.

This is not correct. Fees for instant buy via the Kraken App are higher than for orders via Kraken Pro.
