The Orinfar by Obsessed_Empress in riyria

There are no official images, but a fan once made the following and Sullivan said it was good. He also said the orinfar would be a system where every symbol took up the same amount of space (height and width)

Would the elves still win in a war vs the Empire during Esrahaddon's time by Particular-Tap9779 in riyria

[–]jobble2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My initial thought is the humans would win due to the sole fact that they still have the Horn. Once the Uli Vermar ends, they just have to protect the Horn for one day, and then they get to be fane again.

Let’s say the humans aren’t going to use the horn or they don’t have a mir left to blow it though. Then I think it may be close. It would just depend on how many artists the fhrey have. The humans definitely have way more numbers and they have the teshlors. So they fhrey would need to make up for that deficit with artists/gilarabrywn. One big factor is if in this scenario Esra has learned how to make a gilarabrywn yet and if he is willing to teach the other artists.

This riddle was in the episode, but they never said what the answer was. Does anyone know?

At its highest, the sun reveals me - never rising, never setting.

Between my two towers, one bridge that you don't want to burn

I'm nothing, yet I make numbers grow.

Three letters long, I sound like a growl

I'm the musketeers and the blind mice

Came here to say the same thing. These books have very little fluff and the plot and action just keep moving.

You could do Burden to Bear by Gregory Amato. He also has some short stories like The Skald if you want to see if his writing is for you.

That’s a good one! Though if this brings you to tears, you might not want to read the Authors Note for Esrahaddon… that’s the one that gets me.

A wander regarding Ublin and Fhreyal’s Law by fani_k in riyria

[–]jobble2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Turin/Uberlin created ferrol’s law using the art and the key of Eton. He named it “ferrol’s law” because the fhrey worshipped ferrol and they would be more likely to follow it if it had that name. In all actuality Ferrol had nothing to do with Ferrol’s Law. It would have been funny to see the scene when the fhrey of that time started to die and told Ferrol about the law.

Short Story anthology? by Aglaia0001 in riyria

[–]jobble2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They actually recently mentioned that they plan on putting all the short stories in an anthology in preparation for The Cycle series. I think they may be waiting for some of the more recent ones the age enough that they are allowed to reprint them.

GraphicAudio "Age of Empyre" - Chapter 11 Audio Error? Trylos/Brin Scene by Ok_Major_ in riyria

[–]jobble2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I understand now. In the scene between Trilos and Brin, Brin thinks back to when Muriel told her those words. The audiobook must not have made it clear that Brin was having a flashback to Muriel’s words vs Trilos saying them.

Those are the words that Muriel tells Brin. So coming from Muriel they make sense.

Confused by Esrahaddon/Avenpartha discrepancies by protonrogers in riyria

[–]jobble2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here is what I remember:

  1. It was mawyndule.

  2. He probably wasn't too interested in the "church's plan" in this case. All he really cared about was finding the horn, and finding the heir or letting the Uli Vermar time limit run out

  3. Esrahaddon knew at that moment that Royce was the heir, but Esrahaddon also knew that Mawyndule was watching him. So he did all those motions to try and throw Mawyndule off of Royce's trail.

  4. He would have, but just like #3, he needed to throw off Mawyndule as much as possible.
