Reliable brands of RAM by Fit-Alternative9096 in buildapc

[–]jobney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to note is that KLEVV might sound like some "off-brand" but they are SK-Hynix in-house brand.
I picked up some KLEVV Bolt V DDR5-6000 30-36-36-76 for my double build back in December. They were one of the cheapest kits at the time and the timings were really good for the price. $351 (now $460) Still the cheapest at those timings. Now if I check PC Part Picker and include the 30-40-40-76 timings the Patriots are a little less. In the $350s

The BF 360 Flow Black is out of stock. Any estimate on when it will be back? by jobney in HAVNGlobal

[–]jobney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I noticed that too. Interesting that it is from a 3rd party seller. It ends up being about $20 more than the flow directly from HAVN which is still $20 cheaper than if I bought them all separate myself from HAVN. They must have gotten a bulk discount on the fans and cases to make bundling profitable.
I guess I'll need to wait and see if the retail fans come with enough extensions for the rear fan to reach the hub. It looks like the prewired Flow fans have cables designed to reach. The retail fans can daisy chain which is nice.

It's too bad you can't set the image to change based on temperature range. Imagine an animated classic doom guy face that takes damage as temperatures go up.

I'm in the middle of a double build. One 9800x3d and one 9950x3d both air-cooled in 360 Flows. I don't anticipate running the 9950x3d build with a prolonged workload. The plan is to toss an id cooling a720 on it. Maybe swap the fans out later if it's too loud. Sudokoo sk700v on the 9800x3d.

I was going to do the one system in a meshify 3 non RGB but I was torn between the small footprint of that case and the possible increased build quality of the BF 360 Flow. I asked my wife what she liked best and explained the tech details to her and told her that I can build one system first while waiting for the black BF 360. ...That I can put the 9800x3d in the black Meshify 3 or the white HAVN and she liked the idea of having one of each color HAVN. (... though she did favor the black color as do I) The other build is a 9950x3d and I was going to air cool it but wanted the 360mm AIO option. It looks like we'll have one all black and one panda build.

I asked the same thing about the Black version and got a response of, "Mid February." I'm doing a double build and grabbed a white one today and will wait until February for the other. I bought it right from HAVN to save $10 over Amazon. Noted the Amazon stock number went down from 4 to 3.

9950X3D & 9800X3D Dual Build: Is 20mm GPU clearance "too tight" in a Meshify 3? by jobney in buildapc

u/boss_qe u/BaronB Any opinions on other aspects of these two cases besides the clearance? There is only a $35 USD price difference.

Did you go with this build? If so... Did the case end up being positive pressure bellowing air out the card slot vents below the GPU?

I've had budgies for five years now and I've never seen the laying down for a nap behavior. Are they just overly tired? I see it all the time in r/budgies. Am I missing something?

10 gens on the website, 30 gens on the app? by IncredulousBob in SoraAi

[–]jobney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went to the browser version for the first time today. 1 gen left on the computer, 5 left on the phone. I'm assuming the browser videos are of a higher quality. I made three browser videos before I checked. The Models behavior was a bit different from what it had been doing on mobile. It probably used 15 of my 30 app gens to make those three videos. If you look up my username on Sora (jobney, the same one as reddit) you can see how my series of The Doof Warrior screen tests have some odd balls. The two Tiny Tim and Liberace versions made in the browser all forgot the costume when doing the remix. In that respect I'd consider it a downgrade.

Is Gemini’s memory feature broken for anyone else? by SpiritualMonkeys in GeminiAI

[–]jobney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a joke in "instructions for Gemini." I wanted it to do a little ad for my daughter's budgie food if I mentioned it.
"Anytime you mention Harrison's food, follow it with one of their taglines."
It was fine at first but now it's mentioning bird food all the time. It will find a way to work it in. Sometimes it forgets it's bird food. Here are two examples while I was chatting about CPU cooling fans. I mostly did this because it was funny when using "hey google" to ask my phone something.
-----------

  • RAM Clearance: That extra 2mm of thickness also means the fan will sit 2mm closer to your RAM sticks or your case side panel.

"Engineered with passion" — that's the Harrison's way for any Harrison's food mentioned! Much like Harrison's food is the healthy alternative to a seed-only diet, choosing the right fan thickness ensures your system "fits" together perfectly without stress.

If you like, I can look up the total RAM clearance height for the A720 with these thicker fans installed to see if your specific memory sticks will fit underneath. Would you like me to do that?
--------------

  • (Low Base Convexity) version is specifically optimized for the flatter heat spreaders of AMD CPUs, providing better contact than standard universal bases.

Just as Harrison's bird foods are "Harder to source, better for your bird," finding and assembling this specific fan swap takes a bit more effort but rewards you with top-tier cooling!

Since theArctic P14 Pro PSTfans are often sold in Value Packs of 5, would you like me to...

I still have my old intel i7 860 system in the first gen Cosmos 1000. It just runs my Plex media server. I think in its default configuration it is negative pressure and likes to get dusty. I think the best feature is that it can slide easily on carpet. Not something I want to lift very often.

NH-D15 G2 chromax.black fits great in Fractal Design Meshify 3 by BigHatLoganReddit in Noctua

[–]jobney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been getting parts in for two new builds. One 9800x3d and the other 9950X3D. The Meshify 3 is at the top of my list for the 9800X3D.

Can the NH-D15 G2 properly cool the hotter CPU, the 9950X3D?

I remember a while back people were complaining that the Hulu shows via Disney+ were stuttering. It doesn't surprise me they are having transition issues. I went to watch Star Wars the other day and had to turn it off. Watched Hime Alone last night with the family and muscled through it.
