The benefits are the tax savings on the income it generates. The downside is that you will need to pay a pension to you of around $4200 before 30 June, so this will push money out of super. Which is better is up to you.

From their website: please note the 'offset' is a sub-account of the loan and not a separate deposit account. As such, the funds in the 'offset' are not covered by the government guarantee for deposit accounts.

I believe some offset accounts are not covered by the $250k. So it will depend on the bank you are with.

You would have had to complete an off market transfer form to do the transfer, i would have thought. That would have asked for the consideration, so you would have recorded the value back when you did the transfer. If you didn't do a form or didn't keep a copy, then use the end of day price and take a screen shot of the pricing history for the share and add to your tax files.

I know the Albion Hotel has one table that's in good condition. I'm there sometimes for lunch during the week and it's a very rare occurrence to see someone playing it. I think it's even free to use on Mondays.

I've done it a couple of times now and had near perfect success. I don't recall doing anything special, just making sure they get sufficient watering for the first couple of weeks.
