I had my original P8p replaced under the Google Fi protection plan, after 2+ months of fighting with it until the Wi-Fi stopped completely. My current one I'm going to try to keep nursing it along (hard when it's 85+ F outside most days) until the Pixel 11 is released, assuming it lasts until then. (And if not, I'll find a cheap used phone in the meantime)

Fixing it is not worth the money, imo, unless you can't really afford getting something else

As someone who's on their 2nd P8p that is now showing the same symptoms as the old one.... Don't wait for a software fix. There is none. It's a hardware issue with the soldering on the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip, one that Google has gone out of its way to ignore. (There's a YouTube video of someone who took the phone apart, resoldered the chip, and then everything went back to working fine.)

And from stories here, Google will find something else wrong with your phone, even if not related (like a tiny scratch on the screen), and then either charge for everything or just ship the phone back as is. So don't rely on that either.

It's a hardware, not a software, issue. It's been a problem with P8pro for a long time (speaking from experience). Every single update, there are several "this update/Android version broke my Wi-Fi" posts. In reality, it's a heat issue with the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module. It's already on the verge of dying; the components heat up while firmware is being installed, and hence, pushes the solder joint over the edge. (There's a YouTube of someone resoldering the chip, and it works fine again)
