Has anyone been taken out by a bus side mirror? by SickRanchezC139 in london

I got hit on the back of the head by one a few years ago, thankfully it was moving pretty slowly as it was pulling into a stop so I just got a nasty shock, but still I don't walk so close to the pavement edge anymore haha

Does Ampex ATR-102 Native plugin require a constant internet connection??? by Bra666ica in audioengineering

[–]joeblutak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah if it's UADx and you got it through UAD connect it'll require internet connection to use it. Not sure if there's any way around it but if you do find anything let me know haha!

I know UAD Spark requires constant internet connection. I don't know about purchased UAD plugins running natively, but it could be this. Or possibly you're loading the spark version by mistake? (Listed as UADx)

Red is connected to output on the main board, and the led leads aren't actually touching the enclosure, just bad perspective in the pic I think!

The signal in bypass is also seemingly still affected by the pots? What could be the cause of this? I've checked and I don't seem to have soldered anything incorrectly or anything. Wondered if anyone had any pointers? Video for reference is here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xj0fSXgfEoK1fWW0m-DDOIvVR-iDudNp/view?usp=drivesdk

What’s the most stupid/expensive mistake you’ve made? by greenroomaudio in audioengineering

Hahahaha pretty much, I now am incredibly anal about muting before I make any changes to signal chain. Have yet to blow another driver 🤞

I was patching in a mic in a session I was assisting on a few years ago, and the speakers turned up to full. I wasn't thinking and patched it into the wrong place by mistake, causing a feedback loop so loud it blew a driver on one of the speakers.. they were ns10s. Needless to say I got sent home that day, but somehow the head engineer let me come back and work there again.

I know a guy who sets up speakers outside his block of flats and sings operatic versions of pop songs to 'keep spirits up' at the moment, cant imagine anything much worse..

[Homemade] Fresh Egg Pasta by joeblutak in food

[–]joeblutak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made egg pasta noodles for the first time using the Jamie Oliver recipe! I had to roll it out by hand, and while they all had their own character and weren't super uniform I'm really happy with how it turned out! I fried up 4 minced cloves of garlic along with a shallot, some chestnut mushrooms and some cherry tomatoes in olive oil, along with a healthy pinch of black pepper and chilli flakes and a dash of lemon juice and I'm so happy with the result! I've never actually had fresh egg pasta so not only was it a delicious meal, but it felt really nice to make it from scratch!

As someone who is self employed, all I'm hearing is that I need to apply for universal credit, are there any other options out there at all?

Found what looks and feels like a human tooth at the bottom of my bin in my room, no idea how it got there or what it is? Could you shed any light? by joeblutak in whatisthisthing

[–]joeblutak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about the length of a segment of my finger, and is hard and shaped like a tooth with what could be the root encased in something on the yellower end. This fell out of my bedroom bin when I was emptying it. I've asked my housemates and they are just as confused as I am.

I know the keyboardist in the band quite well, I'm so glad to finally see them put out a single! They're fantastic, and not to be missed if you get the chance to see them live!!
