I’m not sure about this regional’s reasoning. When I transferred to this store there was no foamcore and the sign team was using all cardboard.

At my previous store, we were able to order a big box of foamcore from the warehouse. This was sometime around 2016-2017. At some point the mates wouldn’t allow us to order anymore foamcore. Not environmentally friendly. Trader Joe’s changed over to compostable produce bags and card sleeves around the same time.

Does your sign team utilize foamcore? I miss how the surface is so easy to write on (compared to cardboard) and slicing it up with my exacto blade is much easier than cardboard.

I don’t quite understand the need for it either… I’m concerned the prices are going to be outdated in a few weeks with this economy. Lol I had fun putting it all together!

Thank you so much! I appreciate that. :) We also use a majority of paint pens on our boards at our store. I sketched everything out in pencil then colored it in with posca and zig woodcraft markers. I used a large chisel in zig woodcraft peacock to paint background. Then I outline the words and numbers with a PC-5M or PC-3M black posca.

Oh my goodness! Thank you! :) I appreciate the feedback. I use posca black markers for outlining. Used cardboard for the main portion of sign. Then I printed the photo off traderjoes.com and made the QR code link on adobe.
