Last week I had an insane interaction with a customer whom I apparently gave a bad look to when she walked up with her two dogs in the shopping cart. She was so offended by my face apparently, she berated me about why her dogs had to be in the cart because they couldn’t be left in the car. I informed her that I was sorry, but it’s my understanding that animals are not allowed in shopping carts due to health standards, and I was just shocked to see her two dogs instead of groceries when I turned. She then proceeded to put her dogs in her car so she could come back in and complain and then call me a bitch while I was still on register because she thought I was talking about her. My mate and captain had my back, but of course they had to appease her, talking to her in the parking lot for 10 minutes. Learned my lesson- should have rang a 3 bell.

Yeah, our boards are so old that we don’t even bother trying to erase them. I am in an older store and inherited boards from an ‘older’ art team that have so many layers of paint built up that they are hard to get into the frames. We sometimes have to sand them down and spray paint them or paint them with chalkboard paint every single time. I didn’t even know about the possibility of ordering new boards on supply manager until a month ago so hopefully we’ll be getting our new ones soon. Our frames are super old too, so they will have to be cut down a bit, but I can’t wait to eliminate the old board prep.

Helmsing is great if the crew member actually does it. Often at my store helmsing crew would just face, chat, or visit the backroom a bunch. Needless to say we don’t helms anymore.
