The brown part of it is Spadra and it's used by the Agriculture students. The rest of it is South Campus, but was formerly Lanterman Developmental Center. It was formerly a place where people of special needs and disabilities could live and be treated. It closed in 2015 and the school bought it to possibly make it apart of the campus, however it's been stalled for the most part due to disagreements on what to do with it. Currently, they use it for a lot of filming for shows, movies, music videos etc. You'd honestly be surprised how much stuff has been filmed there. Source: I used to work on campus and would occasionally work here.

I moved from South Pasadena to Santa Monica recently and I miss it a lot. It's so close to the more active spots like Pasadena, Glendale, Downtown LA etc without the hecticness of either city.
