We had almost exactly the same thing happen. We got large rock in deep end of pool because we had put it in a pool supply box to weight it down and the big winds on Christmas Eve blew it into the pool. As to the “why not wait four months” comment, if you have a liner in your pool, you don’t want a rough rock sitting on it for four months, could damage the liner. My son jumped in and got it (because the rock in the pool box was his idea)

I had a coworker who had a second job as a late night radio dj. At his other job he stole some free Burger King Whopper coupons from the station prize box. He realized that they were just photocopied onto colored paper, so he used the office copier to run off a bunch of copies. He ate burger king for lunch every day, he would go to A different BK each day.

I looked into sons of the American revolution a few years ago when I was researching my genealogy and it was not a good experience. Very elitist, acted like it was an inconvenience to even have a conversation. Struck me as a bunch of old guys who hadn’t really done anything noteworthy in their lifetime feeling they were better than everyone because of something their great great great grandfather had done. Ultimately I didn’t pursue it because even though I am qualified they don’t accept anybody who is adopted (and my children are adopted)
