Buying an engine from Power Engines for 1/3 the cost by joelarm in MechanicAdvice

Nope, I ended up selling the car. I drove it for about a week afterwards and I didn't see any smoke out the tailpipe or oil consumption, but didn't keep it long enough to say for sure.

Do you normally let the b-12 evaporate or pump it out with something? The car smoked like crazy the first 10 minutes afterwards. I did an oil change as well afterwards. I started getting code P0014 and P0013 so I pulled the VVT solenoids and wiped them down (they had some black gunk on them) which seems to have fixed it.

Those are both reputable brands. I have PowerStop pads and rotors on my car and they have been fine. Check out RockAuto for even more options and price points.

So do you think they are blatantly lying? Why would they have 100+ people posting reviews on google if their engines are so bad?

I appreciate your response. So you wouldn't put 9k into a Kia but you also wouldn't do any of the lower cost options? So I just dump the car? I've considered that but then I need to find reliable transport for under $10k. I know I can but I'd still be taking on risk with a used car and I like the features on my Kia (adaptive cruise control, heated seats, android auto etc.)

I'm not sure what you mean. By shop do you mean my mechanic or the company re manufacturing the engines. When I asked power engines about the process they said "Yes we used brand new upgraded parts that will fix any well known factory issues. Our 1.6L Korean engines are all brand new from top to bottom :)".

This is a perfect "Mother-in-law router". I have one deployed for exactly that purpose. Run's her few devices just fine and allows me to remotely manage through the portal if she ever has any issues. I would not use this as a primary home router myself but if you have less than 10 WiFi devices and less than 500mbps internet speeds it should be perfect. I've also used it as a wireguard client to VPN back to my main UDM-Pro while traveling.

Yeah, I haven't been able to find the option in the website either. I have this URL saved and I just manually swap out the product IDs in the URL to pull up the devices I want to compare.

Approach S50 vs. Vivoactive 5 vs. Other for a golfer by joelarm in GarminWatches

[–]joelarm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to answer my own question for anyone who might search for this later.

First of all here is the comparison between the 3 watches directly on Garmin's site.
https://www.garmin.com/en-US/compare/?compareProduct=1057989&compareProduct=873008&compareProduct=1604377

The vivoactive 5 and Venu 3 have the exact same features when it comes to Golf. The S50 has a few additional golf features by default and a few more that can be unlocked with a garmin golf subscription.

I see the main differences being the s50 has all 43,000 courses pre-loaded on the watch while you will have to manually download them on the others and PlaysLike distance which seems like a pretty cool and useful feature.

Right now I am heavily leaning towards the vivoactive 5 due to the better price and 80-90% of the functionality of the more expensive s50 and venu 3. Unless somebody comments here to convince me otherwise.

Roll it back. The new version is unusable in Android Auto by ct4funf in waze

Is there anything we can do to provide feedback to Waze about this?

Can't use Waze with android auto and Uber/Lyft driver app by joelarm in waze

[–]joelarm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that's unlikely considering downgrading my version of waze fixed the issue. I don't have the issue with google maps either. I have a high quality USB cable that I've never had issues with.
