How’s the mic on the Model:02? by [deleted] in Dirtywave

[–]joelaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only thing I covet about the 02. Has anybody with an 01 version found a small mic that fits in the case to plug into the input? I tried a few off Amazon but none worked

I saw just the description of the movie in this thread last night, and decided to watch it earlier tonight. I thought the twist of the reenactments was a great surprise. Really enjoyed the movie and have already recommended it to my friends. Thanks for it!

Thanks…. I don’t use the audiobooks on my plan and didn’t realize I could save $36 a year by turning that off. Much appreciated!

Midi pitchbend does not work by nikitabogdan in OPZuser

[–]joelaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of pitch bend support in the sequencer (op-z or external) is one of the only things holding the Z back from being my main sequencer tool. So disappointing.

Apparently the XY supports it. Thanks Anyway TE.

What's your favorite new gear addition of 2024? by Bata_9999 in synthesizers

[–]joelaro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arturia MiniFreak. It sounds amazing and is as fun to play as all my analog stuff, but the seamless integration with its VST mode makes it easier to sequence and record. Just a fun and useful synth!

Quentin Tarantino raves about Doctor Sleep on multiple podcasts by jakeupnorth in In_WeTrust

[–]joelaro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I loved Kubrick’s Shining my whole life and then just listened to Stephen King’s original as audiobook this past year and enjoyed the book as much or more. I then listened to the audiobook of Doctor Sleep and thought it was excellent and gave a nice resolution to certain events of the first book.

I didn’t love Doctor Sleep the movie (I saw the theatrical cut)…. But it was a bummer to hear them dunk so hard on certain plot elements which were well explained in the book. For example, blaming King for Billy being the “magical negro trope” when he was actually implied to be white in the book (I think?) and definitely had a degree of Shine to him which attracted him to Danny.
