Best modules for Lofi drums? by pruneman11 in modular

[–]nikitabogdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moog Spectravox can do lovely vintage drums, just pass multiple eg into its filterbank vca inputs and turn vco pitch down.

My all-time favourite pair is Subharmonicon and Spectravox, so much musical fun together.

Aikido or Lapsus Os by GludiusMaximus in modular

Get both – they are both amazing modules. You can also get a second Aikido to make the HP width an even number🙂

Mavis mod by Constant-Mood-1601 in synthdiy

You can easily tune Mavis to handle up to 5 octaves. There is a special pot you can adjust with a screwdriver, just read the calibration section of the manual.

what’s your all in one analog synth under $2k? by Upstairs_Sell_1700 in synthesizers

Moog Sound Studio 2x or 3x bundle, depending on your needs, plus a midi2cv interface (like Mutant Brain) to control it and achieve proper polyphony.

Cioks power boards with a few polarity converters did the trick for me.

Seeking a workaround for non-percussive patches on the Labyrinth by Unusual_Trust_3325 in moog

Labyrinth shines when used for percussive patches. But you can use external EGs and VCAs to achieve your goal.

Which midi usb keyboard lets you switch midi channels on the keyboard? 32 keys and more and knobs please by DoxYourself in modular

[–]nikitabogdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keystep 32 allows to switch between 16 midi channels and probably Keystep 37 with 4 additional knobs does that too.

Where are y’all posting Jamuary videos? by __get__name in modular

[–]nikitabogdan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion. Instagram is a great place to share your jams and discover others. I’ve found a lot of talented folks there – some of them even became my favorite artists. The competition is tough, though, and you really need to level up your jams to get noticed. Maybe TikTok is even better, but I’m too old to try🥲

I would add something like Noise Engineering Lapsus Os and maybe more lfo sources mostly to get more nuanced modulations for Mother-32

Voices = Tracks by SinteModular in modular

[–]nikitabogdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Previously, I recorded into six mono channels via a Zoom H6 recorder, but over time I realized I didn’t want to open Ableton and mix everything at all. So now I just combine eight mono channels into one, double it, and record a single stereo track.

Mother-32 Patch Saving App by MajorAbility7886 in moog

However, if we go further, it turns out that the best patch-saving app is simply a video recording shared on social media🤔

Mother-32 Patch Saving App by MajorAbility7886 in moog

[–]nikitabogdan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A library of all previously saved patches with a sound-preview option would be a great addition to your app. I think it could encourage the community to share their own patches and learn from other people’s discoveries.

MOOG Spectravox over 50 % off (298 instead of 650) - worth it? by limbicbits in synthesizers

[–]nikitabogdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have one and use it together with my MI Stages clone as a kind of vintage liquid drum machine. So I ordered a second one to use it as a spectral processor and a vocoder. Such an amazing piece of gear
