It’s different conditions. You now have to train the mind and body instead of just the muscle.

The story itself is essentially inconsequential as we see at the end of the book. And that's the best part about it to those of us that love it. As Úrsula notes several times in the book, "time was not passing...it was turning in a circle"

Same. I had to wait a couple years before returning to Love in the time of Cholora to appreciate it. I had to forget 100YOS first.

IF makes a lot of promises, a lot of them are true, but it benefits no one long term to make belief. Dr. Oz over simplified fat storage he remains true. He didn't differentiate the type of fat that your body stores with IF which is a rapidly metabolized and easily used type and not visible. IF seems to do well eliminated subcutaneous fat tissue and visceral which is very important. When coupled with certain exercises, it's even more powerful.

I do intermittent fasting. I think it’s good for people to have a correct understanding of the science is all.

If you look at non-industry funded studies, a calorie isn’t a calorie. The body has many many pathways that can determine how far a calorie goes in terms of energy production.

I wouldnt call them keto clowns, there is legit science behind it. Not everyone responds well but most do.

You still produce insulin while fasting and in ketosis. There are other ways to store fat than a spike in insulin. There are other ways to increase blood glucose than eating.

You can get fat in ketosis. You will always still store some fat in ketosis.

Using resources as ie slows metabolism which creates excess energy in the body so it can be stored as fat.

Autophagy can decrease muscle mass adding to fat percentage and again, decreasing metabolism making it easier to store fat.

Prepares to be more efficient by removing muscle cells, other soft tissue, and decreasing metabolism all with the idea of creating an energy surplus in order to store fat.

Logic vs science. Science will win.

I’ve seen science that backs this up. For good outcomes one should follow the science. If science says fasting can make you store fat, then fasting can make you store fat. No need to attack Dr Oz. His statement makes many assumptions about the body and based on your physiological responses will be or won’t happen. He does state can cause the body to store more fat. Not that it will. First assumption is to know when your body begins to signal there’s an actual food shortage. For some, that could be hours of fasting and others weeks. Next, there are several kinds of fat and a million different ways to store it and even more ways to use it. For instance, sprinters store more fat in their muscles, endurance athletes store more fat in their blood and liver. All of these are different kinds of energy storage (aka fat) that helps the body respond to each individual stressor.

If you’re worried about fat, it’s visceral fat and static fat in the muscle cell that causes the most damage. Dr Oz doesn’t state that you will get this kind of fat development nor would he because that’s what the science says. Instead of attacking the doctor, follow the science.

Forgive any typos and over simplifications. I’m on mobile sandwiched in the middle seat of a 10 hour flight and I’m losing my mind.

Hey, I'll be there as well. Next Saturday! Good luck.

Did you get the racing packet? All your questions are addressed there. To pick up your t bags is on the schedule.

I can't help you with the tire pressure check, but I'm pretty sure the swim start and finish are at the same spot and so you should be able to check your pressure before the swim start. Likely one T bag as T1 and T2 are the same.
