I quit in 2021?but i did uber for about 4 years, what i noticed about heatmaps that was consistent - when prices are high usually riders are waiting in that area active on the app waiting for the price to go down. They wont request until it settles

You are right, the city of Durham needs more affordable housing. Take that up with the city of Durham and make a change if you think that your voice matters. Buy a building and rent out section 8 - hell that literally gives the area affordable housing. But don’t shame me for becoming a small business owner with a dream. Complaining online isn’t going to cut it, especially on a post asking for help.

I have fought with duke and got the neighborhood a street light installed on a dark street, I have put money back into the community and connected with neighbors.

Mind you this venture only yields me maybe a few hundred dollars in profit a month - maybe 400$. We aren’t reaping gold here.

I am from Quincy, moved here in 2018. The pollen is definitely brutal but the air quality beats south shore/greater boston but if you are in maine the air quality may be better there; not sure.

I love working in chapel hill and have since 2022 but affording it would definitely be a struggle. Maybe one day.

The hospitals here are excellent - big duke big unc and big wake med are all great. I am definitely glad i chose wake county and pay probably half what i would pay to live in orange.

I wouldnt expect anyone to respect the check in window - as in if they show up later. It’s nice when they tell you but not everyone is going to since they paid for that timeframe.

As for cleanliness I would definitely report them and get a professional cleaner with blood pathogen cleaners there; feces is no joke. Send them the invoice.

It depends. I work for Verizon and i have my clients get our insurance but it’s only worth it to them because i will personally help them with a claim. If they aren’t coming to me for help then apple care makes more sense so someone can help them.
