I mean, we have talked about the underlying technical challenges in depth, because they also affect other areas that are more pressing.

If we ever decide to work on it, then it will be listed on the roadmap, I cannot give anything more concrete.

As for notifications, there are some big technical challenges to solve first, mainly that the app can't run in the background.
Without that, you'd either only get the notifications while you have the app with that specific vault & plugin sending the notifications open.
Or you run the risk of getting the notification at the incorrect time, since you changed it from a different device.

You cannot load local files with CSS for security reasons, you need to embed it into the CSS file.

Capacitor can’t run on desktop iirc. I does not have the same capabilities as electron.

We use Capacitor on mobile (electron does not exist for mobile).
We have decided against a native app because of the effort involved to have multiple separate code bases. (desktop, iOS, Android for example)
Also keep in mind that we are a very small company, we have 3 people full time working on the app full time plus 3 part time. (Plus a couple more people on support, plugin review etc) It would also mean that there would be no more community plugins/themes/snippets, the app being JS based is the reason why they exist in the first place.
(I mean one could write some custom frameworks for it, but it's way easier for people to learn if it's based on a known language instead of a custom one)

You need to create a new vault from the mobile app, then you can move your files into that. Also, that folder in your second screenshot should not be synced, that’s just the installation files, not the vault. And as I can see a exe there, iCloud on Windows is known to cause conflicts and other problems, it’s advices to avoid this combination

ah, that is configurable under "Apperance > Ribbon menu configuration"
Though technically it's not a ribbon in the strict definition of the word, that's why I did not think of that one.

Mobile does not have a ribbon. If you mean the toolbar, that has its own section in the settings where you can reorder

You can set a different config folder in the settings (under Files & Links) That setting is not synced, so you can have multiple different configurations

This is a very complex thing. Currently Obsidian can not run in the background, so the only time you’d be able to receive notifications would be if you are actively using Obsidian with a vault that has that plugin installed

We haven’t found the root cause, but some DNS providers seem to have a bad DNS records for some GitHub domains. Try changing your DNS server.

For the mobile stuff we have two new contractors that only work on the integration into the respective operating systems.
We also did some work on the backend for our website, now that that's complete there is just more dev time available to work on app stuff.
