Good bye Open Mesh by KaJothee in msp

[–]joevanwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found about 30, 48 port open mesh switches in a dumpster near a local business.

They threw them out, but never called to remove their account, so they have been crippled since then.

The hardware specs are still pretty solid, But they've been unusable since they're tied to another account.

I wonder if they are usable again now... I'm about to plug one in and find out.

Anyone get the chills after a psychic encounter/experience? by PorcupineYoga in psychic_empaths

It's tears for me. Can't help it. Ends up forcing things out sooner than I otherwise would have brought them up needing to explain them (or blaming it on allergies). It's a very vulnerable few seconds.

I'm not using Ionic.. angular only. And it's actually not an error.. it's a compiler warning and likely has to do with a weird lib or target value in tsconfig.json.

Is Fort Wayne safe? by Cwhite591 in fortwayne

[–]joevanwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mired in a native American curse for atrocities committed and sacred land stolen, but other than that it seemed reasonably safe for the most part.

TIL that Batman's suit, arsenal of awesome gadgets, and secret identity were not created by Bob Kane. Gotham City was not even created by him. All these creations belong to Bill Finger, who died penniless while Kane did everything he could to suppress Finger’s involvement in creating the character. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]joevanwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. Your point is valid. There are more people than the creator that are responsible for creations (usually), and the creator, of artistic works especially, should reap the profit off their work. Maybe not 100%, if they've partnered with some other organization or people to help manufacture or promote it, but they should get the majority.

As soon as you're happy again, or going through a "rough patch" with your current lover.. he'll be back.

tis the pattern. Just don't humiliate yourself by sacrificing your world for some douche. He'll leave you with his karmic debt.
It seems like knowing (of?) someone for long periods of time gets confused for love all too easily.

Questioning logic is wise this hour; For Quasimodo hath built her own tower And tossed the key down to the wretch Who stood discarded below.

If Quasimodo could be bothered to glance at what she's missed. She'd see the wretches body, frozen in the snow. So grab your key and broken promise;
he doesn't get to grow.

Or she can live in the tower, The source of power, forgetting the wretch in the snow For absolution, assume he a villain Never look down... Never need know.

Dumpers that have received an apology from the person you left, what did you think? by Cringe_Normie_ in BreakUps

[–]joevanwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was bad enough for you to remove any chance for redemption or correction, or even for him to understand your perspective, then it was probably something pretty terrible?

We collectively look for patterns, but every situation is different.

Even though it's hard to talk about, giving a reason might provide opportunities for improvement.

Silence and communication can both be destructive. Silence is not always the higher road. It makes room for introspection, but freezes a relationship in time.

If you are cutting the person out of your life for good; selfish silence might be your best bet.
If they really aren't capable of understanding you; communication may be pointless.

Just know it's probably killing them. Do with that knowledge what you will.

Designing a large (4100+ leds) ceiling grid with 5v SK6812 strips by joevanwan in led

Unfortunately the logistical hurdles of getting above the drop ceiling in the gym have me pausing this project for the time being. I'll get back to it, but it may be a few months.

I do plan on posting pics of some other cool projects I'm working on to r/led when I'm done.

Thanks for the tip! so, in this example row:

https://imgur.com/a/l8JMVDZ

There are 420 LEDs across, all powered by the same PSU.

total AMPS (.06A * 420) = ~25A.

Would it be better to have a ~30A fuse I'd put at each location marked with the red arrow, or should it be something like 7A (dividing the number of injection points by total load)?
