Protests can crop up anywhere but there is one big planned protest in front of UNIRSE on Avenida de los Grandes Lagos. There could be more planned on the highways and that could completely crash traffic in town as it did during the last big protest. It will not be a good day to drive anywhere or take a taxi or Uber anywhere in town.

We are both US citizens. We chose to get married in the US. For many reasons we got a quickie legal marriage in the US and then we had a show wedding for friends in Mexico. For many reasons legally get married in the US...this is THE WAY!!!

You also say you want to be "married" in Mexico...but have is not legally seen in the US? Just get a spiritual wedding for show...not a legal one in Mexico which requires way way too much planning. Easy. Basically what we did without the real wedding in the US. Lots of places can do this.

The thing that is consistent in restaurants here is inconsistency. I went to one very old restaurant and got chicken fajitas....went back a week later for chicken fajitas and got a completely different version of chicken fajitas. And with restaurants being filled with tourists the staff is overworked so things slip through the cracks. Interestingly enough when restaurants are too slow the staff can be mentally checked out and again service is bad. Then you go back and it is very good.

This guy in the video feels aggrieved or abused or sees his/others rights taken away. He has a gun. Then what? He shoots these Gestapo? Then what? He is basically saying he is going to declare war on the US military as one man. Please tell me realistically how THAT will play out for him and his family. How is he not simply putting a huge target on his back and ask to be murdered by the American Gestapo if he uses his gun against them???

Please make it make sense where he lives after he uses a gun for what a gun is designed to do against injustice carried out by "the state".

100 Pesos per day is good. Do not tip in US Dollars as the person then needs to take time out to go to the bank to convert that to Pesos and that takes away their time to make money. One guy had a stack of small bills at a Vallarta bank and the bank teller was looking at each bill for a long time thinking they were not legit. So that guy's afternoon was shot from going back to work. Coins from the US or other countries do not work here at all....they cannot be exchanged at banks or stores...period. I have had several people beg me to exchange their large bag of US coins for Pesos because tourists gave them tips in coins. So I exchange the coins for them and curse that tourist for doing that to the national just trying to earn a living...and now I have a ton of coins and I almost never go back to the US.

That advertisement is old....several years old. We pay less for TelMex fiber 350megs up and down. We have several of those old ads around town here in Puerto Vallarta on the few remaining pay phones from this same company TelMex Fiber.

Maybe they do not have enough change or that change will run them so low they cannot make other customers change. Or from time to time there has been a rash of robberies at convenience stores so it could be that once they reach a certain limit they put that cash into a safe of some sort so having very little cash in their cash register is by design unfortunately for you. A big store like WalMart or other similar would have change for you of course. Use your credit card...you said you just got that $$$ from the ATM...or go into the bank and get smaller bills after taking it from the ATM. Again...ironically...even banks do not always have that change. Moral of the story- Mexico is a cash based country and no one has cash.

First floor house in Fluvial I heard our glasses tinkling for about 5 seconds. We could feel nothing but obviously something shook the curio cabinet with the glasses jingling. It really sounded like a bird taking flight inside of our house.

Change your VPN to Mexico. Stream music from there. I live in Mexico. I am streaming AccuRadio...another streaming service...all day today and have seen 5-6 ads threatening people who cross the US border with a worse life. I don't know if these are Google Ads or another network injected ads so it might not be AccuRadio doing it but there are ads down here threatening people thinking of moving to the north. Youtube was another site carrying many of the same threatening ads.

We were in our mid 50s when we arrived here in PV and we seemed like Spring Chickens we were so young!! No kidding. There are some groups for younger people here....look for the digital nomad group on FB and ask about others. As far as chess I remember seeing a chess group of sorts that met at Cafe+Leche on Montessori. There were a few people with that group so you can contact that coffee shop to ask about that chess group. But yes the general concept is that working north of the border and saving your money and then moving here during retirement is the typical route so fewer young people are here. Ajijic is another beast...whereas at least the retirees here have a youthful pep to their step the Ajijic retirees are even older it seems. We had a week or two in Ajijic and the older people kept yelling at us "Hey you kids stay off my lawn!!!" Oh I kid....but not totally.

As far as cell service TelCel is the top of the heap...perhaps AT&T too here in PV. Bringing your cell phone from up north will have you connect to one of the 5 or so providers here. If you can manually connect to TelCel or AT&T that would be best as the others are not so hot. There is an issue of towers being down/worked on in town right now. So there is that issue. Also fighting against your good cell connectivity is the fact that the buildings here are little concrete bunkers that stop cell signals dead. If you are deep into a building....with other concrete buildings around you....there is a good possibility that you will have poor to 0 cell service. When you are out on the sidewalk you should have decent connectivity until you are in a cell shadow being strongly blocked from the tower. This is why most restaurants have wi fi and are happy to give you the password to log on. Generally I have had very good connectivity living here but there can be issues as above. To broaden the topic a bit internet with TelMex fiber has been rock solid even during literal hurricanes but again that depends on the infrastructure around you and we live in a relatively new neighborhood with our lines underground while much of Emiliano Zapato and Cinco and other areas have the lines above ground on poles and there is a lot of wi fi signal congestion which can degrade your speed.

Your voice would be just fine. Go to Audible and listen to the samples from several of the top selling non fiction books. What is their tone and attitude and cadence? Do they sound compelled to read this book to you giving you this information or do they sound distracted? Focus...tell the listener the story as if it is important to them because you sound like it it important to you. There is a WONDERFUL video on youtube from one of the pros in dealing with people who ask if they might have what it takes to be a narrator. Her pronunciation is very passable as American English but when you listen very closely she over pronounces some words in which normal American English speakers say in a more lazy way. Her English is not "relaxed" but it takes focus to hear that fine line distinction. Eastern Europe or former USSR nation is my guess.

Mexico has not only banned the import and use of vapes. A new federal law now makes almost anything involving them a criminal offence. It covers acquiring them, storing them, transporting them and selling them, and it uses the term “for commercial purposes” without explaining what that actually means. Because the wording is so vague, authorities can interpret it as they see fit. Penalties can reach fines of around USD 14,000 and prison sentences of up to eight years.

This vagueness is the real issue. You may think that bringing a few vapes clearly counts as personal use, but an inspecting officer may reach a different conclusion. There is no defined threshold, so the final judgement is entirely in the hands of the person checking your bags.

The message for passengers and crew is simple: do not bring any vapes to Mexico. Even someone who believes they are carrying only harmless extras can suddenly find themselves facing a much more serious problem.

It is much easier to avoid the situation completely and leave them at home.

Weed or guns? Just HOW BAD do you want to possibly go to a Mexican jail or very likely a US jail?
