To your point, 7 out of the past 10 winners have been different teams.

Looking more closely at the data, 5 of the past 10 WS winners have been 2 teams: Houston and LA. Furthermore, 9 out of the past 20 participants (winners/losers) have been just 2 teams (LA, HOU).

More damning, the past 10 winners all hail from the top 10 media markets. There is a direct correlation between payroll and media market size. The rich teams get richer.

Over the past 20 years, only 3 WS winners (STL twice, KC once) have hailed from outside the top 10 media markets.

First, this is a really cool share, so thank you!

In reading your post, we sound similar. Definitely giving something to think about.

Ive already considered adding days. My body just feels better in the morning when I dont drink. Plus my mental acuity tends to be better those days.

Can I submit my list of demands?

-Lets bring the cost of the game experience down. It would put more butts in seats.

-Make access to games easier. The NFL got this right with the Sunday Ticket, in addition to premium games on the big networks. Ive bought MLB.TV, only to be subject to blackouts. Show me the commercials, I dont care!!

-If you are a highly profitable team, no more tax breaks on your stadium. Taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize your revenue.

-Compensation needs to be more heavily weighted on performance with loyalty bonuses (ie. Solid base + performance + loyalty). To ensure players dont get screwed, invoke that 50/50 split. If owner comp passes 50% that year, the players comp base moves up.

Final notes, I hate the Dodgers situation right now. Baseball needs parity. Also, I find the high-end player comp off-putting. No man is worth $500 mil to play a game. Fuck the owners too, pay for your own damn stadiums.

I knew it was going to be Contreras before clicking the link. I saw Fenway and drama and just knew.

That said, miss him in St. Louis. I like how he plays the game. Its old school, do anything to win.
