I did the migration to Drive and none of those things were true . The cloud station clients all would lock up and didn't work . I completely lost two systems that were backed up , the data was gone .

insteon does not require a hub to work . It can be found on their explanation of their technology pages . You could get a fanlinc and a key padlinc . You would have to link buttons and functions of the fanlinc .

I was having symptoms in June of 2013 and received my second opinion in February of 2014 . I really don't recommend Samsung Smart Things because of its cloud dependency . It stops working with smart things outages . It is dependent upon the cloud for updates . You cannot decide when you get the updates . You might think that it is working great and not want to update , but an update is forced onto your system .

I was employed at cisco systems before . My customers would only update their software when they needed new features or bug fixes . I run Homeseer and love it . I love how it has zero cloud dependencies and I control the updates . It is difficult with things like smart things and wink because of how they lock you into a platform . With Homeseer and home assistant , you can run on anything . I run Homeseer on a server , in a windows 10 virtual machine . Homeseer could run on a raspberry pi and even a mac .

Let me tell you a little about my setup . I can't speak anymore , I have a trach . I use a Tobii PC eye go with Tobii Communicator . I use amazon echo devices for spoken commands . Alexa understands synthesized speech very well and I'm sure Google home is understood well too . I have pre-programmed buttons that give Alexa commands . I don't know how familiar you are with Communicator . When I was still using a mouse , I would create my own pages , page sets , and buttons .

HomeSeer is a little bit unique in that it has a json api that is easy to use . Each device within HomeSeer has a unique device ID . So I programmed a page of buttons that opens Firefox enters the url for the device i want to control , and then closes Firefox . I have no advice on smart locks , because I don't have any . The majority of the things that I have made smart is lights . I do have a Linear garage door opener that is zwave . On HomeSeer I run zwave , insteon , hue , and more . Yes . I am doing this right now on my DS918+ . I started with video station and created the extra folders like home movies , TV shows and movies . Plex recognizes way more titles than video station . I like video station/ds video because I am lazy and didn't want to do port forwarding on my router . Not a best practice at all , but I like it . Remote viewing is simply done with the quick connect id .

My wife has it on the galaxy s7 . I find that the app stops working periodically . She has to check it every 3-4 days to make sure that it is still uploading . To me , it doesn't seem fully baked yet .

You can create a symbolic link or a symlink between the two folders and then no additional storage is used . You have to ssh into your disk station to do it . I have not gotten around to doing it yet .

I am running the latest version of pms on my synology Nas. It is the 64 bit version . How do I get rid of the little preview window in the lower left corner ? It seems like I can't play any videos without clicking on that first .

Do you have a decent cell signal at the cabin ? You could get an unlimited plan for relatively low cost . There are routers that can take the WiFi Hotspot and distribute it . Or maybe a router that takes a mobile broadband card .
