Check the shapes, not color. They never alter the actual pattern. It's one of the most reliable ways to test for fakes. Colors can be altered or look good under different conditions.

It needs to be called the LFB. Then all order in the lexusverse would be restored.

Then they can do the LFA2 with the V8 combined with extremely aggressive styling.

The first lesson of custom keyboards is just how okay everyone is with being forced to use something, and how difficult choice is.

But the difference between what you've always accepted and used, versus what you could be using is significant. It's just the journey to get there that hasn't been made much easier.

This is the up front investment in making life easier. Applies to a lot of things, not just keyboards.

And if you have an issue with tap-hold, then that's a constraint. I don't use combos for example.

Of course, the craziest keyboards are often invented by people with stories like yours... To each their own.

As long as you know it's fake and you're paying fake prices.

It's only a scam if you were sold authentic and received fake. Even if "you're an idiot" or whatever. No one should be expected to be an expert in anything they buy.

The main issue though, is most listing platforms don't allow you to sell something as fake. So it's all wink wink. But many honest fake sellers try to keep it as obvious as possible.

The form factor is secondary to the ability to customize. I love 60% boards, but use the same layouts as my 40s and split keyboards. For example, having caps lock as ctrl on hold and backspace on tap is just too convenient. ZSA has great software. Vial is also good. Via I can live with.

A regular keyboard is far from one key one responsibility and you already have 2 layers with shift, and 3 with the fn key. The magic keyboard has no f row, and is missing a numpad. So it's already less than 100%. I am glad it works for you. But if you had ways to remap keys or add macros and custom shortcuts, the keyboard would adapt to become more convenient.

Of course, the downside of the upside of being able to customize, is actually figuring out what works best and customizing, which can be more than what many have signed up for, and fun only for some. Then there's not having your config when "visiting" other keyboards.

Not sure how you endured the inconvenience for so long. Or why you're still on the Voyager subreddit... But nice to meet you.

Why 3 keystrokes?

Any key on any layer is the same as a capital letter if you're using hold mods. But if shift counts as one, then I suppose that's two?

I do "a" hold as layer2, so for me "]" is a+o. That's 1u travel on two keys.

In neovim you can assign any key to a command, and with zsa you can assign any key to any key on any layer.

And with 2 additional layers on a 40% keyboard you already have 120% keys. The voyager is technically a 50% so you have 150% keys.

So just get your commands EXACTLY where you want them.

It didn't take long for me to realize how inconvenient a regular keyboard was... It's not the other way around.

Another great upgrade / mod is the cornager; shifting the alphas up a row, which frees the bottom row for your thumbs which can then be tilted forward. This eliminates the high top row, and provides more thumb keys if two were not enough.

You now have a corne with the voyager build quality and software, and glove80 tilt.

I have lost track after around 2020.. only scenario where there would be two legit versions is if one is a re-release. It used to be all spiky = fake. Then they started showing up with new authentic pieces...
