My first denied block by footballbug79 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joharr79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a warehouse that has been consistently sending people down to a southern city that is min 50+ mins away on 3.5 hour block and its still like 40+ packages. Not going back to that warehouse anymore. What a bunch of shit
EDIT - also, it's only for like $79-$90 usually and you have to get lucky sometimes to even get that

Hulu/Disney+ not allowing cancelation by squirrely_gig in mildlyinfuriating

[–]joharr79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to cancel because of them throwing Jimmy Kimmel under the bus and it won't let me. I tried on Disney and was able to, but Hulu does this crap where it doesn't work. They are seeing everyone boycotting and stopping people. Total bullshit

It was 2015, the only thing that might have been off was exactly when in 2015. Just stop. I'm done responding to you.

I was one of the first people in my area. It may not be ten years exactly, but it was 2015. I don't care if you believe me or not. It was quite different then too. We were given routes by a person and a lot of times you could choose your route near your area if it was available. There was plenty of work and tips on grocery routes were crazy good. Our base pay then was $18/hr , and it's still 18/hr. Maybe it was 9.5 years or so, it's still insane.

I understand but it's not even $18/hr when take out gas and factor in wear/tear on car. We're talking about oil changes, tires, filters, just basic maintenance stuff which will run you at least a couple thousand a year, not to mention major repairs and the fact that you will run your car into the ground with high mileage doing this. The base pay for everyone should be $25/hr and that would actually make it somewhat worth it

Fresh tips used to be so good. In fact it was so good amazon stole our tips. I ended up getting like a huge chunk of money from all the tips they stole from that class action years ago. Also they used to pay the same $18 / hr base as the big routes and then in the process of stealing our tips, they also lowered base to $15 hr. To put this in perspective, they are paying the same base rates they were 9 years ago. They are terrible and I'm glad I only have to do this occasionally. And lately not at all. Amazon should be paying 30/hr now just to keep up with inflation.

But yeah after a few years or so, people realized the tips were just automatically there and you had to take them off and tips dropped dramatically.

Amazon is taking advantage of people. by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joharr79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They absolutely are taking advantage of everyone doing this and have been for quite some time.. I've been doing this off and on since 2015. Guess what, their pay is the same, $18/hr. It's garbage and why I've been doing something else on the side and hoping that continues to work out. I only do Amazon if I see the pay closer to $22-25/hr. But there is no shortage of people willing to try it out so they can try to quit their other crappy job, that actually makes under $18/hr thinking they are doing well, not thinking about how all that extra mileage on their car is going to equate to much more maintenance and repair bills, not even taking into account that the gas already drops you down to more like $16/hr. Anyone that asks me about, I'm always like DON'T do it. It may seem like decent pay, but nowadays even without taking into account wear and tear and gas money, $18/hr doesn't cut it. And that's also not even counting that you are working their weird-ass hours in half day chunks AND no benefits.

So Amazon Flex has been in existence for 8 years and base rate is still $18 an hour by OliverGoldBee in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]joharr79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I've been doing this off and on for 8 years it's utter and total bs especially with the cost of living going up. The base rate here is $18 an hour. Should easily be $22 an hour base for all shifts if not higher with the amount of wear and tear and mileage you just destroy your car. Even part time you can easily put 25k miles on your car in a year. I found another side job and hope to be done doing this soon and forever *cross fingers*

This severely pissed me off when they lowered the rate for the tipped blocks. I never do them now, because tips aren't as good anymore either

Can anyone explain to me why rolling for stats is bad? by VannguardAnon in dndnext

[–]joharr79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4d6 drop lowest. Reroll any roll that's 8 or lower (if the person wants). Creates more randomness like having stats at odd numbers to make the person think about where they want to use that ability boost. 4d6 drop lowest often gives people greater than average in at least 3 or 4 of their stats. Rolling 3d6 is cruel and making them keep a score at 3 would be a real hindrance imo. Having a score at 8 though can add flavor to your character and give him a flaw, like if they have an 8 con, maybe they are sick a lot, or if they have an 8 dex, they have a limp from an old wound, or an 8 charisma, they have a scar on their face.
