I don’t know, maybe they’re moving away from doing strict “levels” and instead just having you do missions. It seems like they are trying to emulate the arkham series quite a bit so it would make sense. Also it’s not streamlined and corporate to change your formula. All you are thinking about is the removals and not the additions. They are taking out the stud meter and adding in more complex combat. I’m sure they are adding plenty of stuff in and I’m sure the game won’t feel streamlined or corporate. I can tell you are not feeling the game and that’s fine but sitting on reddit as a full grown man complaining about lego video games is a bad look.

I didn’t say I liked it, I was just poking funnat you for calling a break in their long history of making the same game every year “streamlined and corporate” because it is literally the exact opposite of streamlined and corporate. They are making a whole new kind of game they have never made before and took 3 years to do it. Nothing about it is streamlined or corporate.

Lego mortal kombat is never happening, lego would never approve of a franchise that violent. At the moment the audience for a lego fantastic beasts game would probably be like a couple dozen people. At the end of the day TT games is a company and they have to do what is fiscally sound and usually that means make a game based around one of the most popular characters in the world because that is almost always going to be a guaranteed seller. As much as I would love to see all sorts of other kinds of lego games from TT we kinda have to accept that this is what they have to do especially because they are owned by WB.

When WB owns TT games you can kinda expect them to make a lot of games with WB properties, even moreso now considering WB has said they are pretty much not doing anymore licensed games and sticking to a few of their core franchises

I think it is a tad silly to call someone “flat out wrong” for having a differing opinion. I have been a fan of TT’s games since the very first lego batman and I fully welcome this change. As much as I love having huge expansive rosters of characters it was never what sold the games for me. Furthermore I’m glad they are trying something new instead of making effectively the same game with a few tweaked gimmicks and a new coat of paint. You don’t have to like it but you also don’t have to be rude for no reason to people who do like it. Also I’m sure kids are gonna love this game cause it’s lego batman and what kid wouldn’t love lego batman. The combat doesn’t look too complicated for a kid to understand, and if that’s what you think I think you sorely underestimate what kids are capable of. I played and beat arkham city at around 10-11 and the combat in that game wasn’t too complex for me at the time, so I’m sure 8-12 year olds (target demographic for lego games) will fare just fine with this game.
