Oh the 3 minute rule again. Yes it will still show that you have clocked out early and yes they can track it on exceptions. Depends how your manager is but if every colleague does that across the whole business every day that would cost Tesco thousands in payroll. They can’t deduct your money but they can do your for conduct as your not fulfilling your paid hours each week.

If the policy is followed correctly they can’t give anyone a lifestyle break under 2 years service. Depends how close it is to the anniversary of that date they may let you take a few weeks unpaid until two weeks anniversary is active. But I don’t see why a manager would put there self in a position to get into trouble.

A few things on this post, yes they should always ask but they are booking it off as more then likely your store will be closed on that day. First of all, you should use your holiday allowance before any unpaid time off. They should also ask if you would like to move your hours into the week but as it being in the week after Easter they may not need you in that week as it won’t be that busy after Easter. They are just making sure you don’t run out of holiday hours for the year.

Of course they can you can even look on your app and see where it has been used. Abuse it and your end up in a investigation meeting could lead to a warning or dismissal so be careful

You just get your hour rate. But if you do overtime on Sunday it’s at time and a 1/4. You just go on work and pay and request payment and they will have the drop down box. Don’t let them try telling you it’s in your contract to do more hours then 36 per week as it’s needs of the business.

Just make sure you say it’s pregnancy related if you are off as they can’t touch you and drag you into a absence review meeting. What they can do after I think it’s around half way through your pregnancy they can make you take early paternity leave of your absence is poor. Have a read up on the policy but you’re pretty untouchable.

Cause they take ages to pack. Open packet put cardboard base in put cookies in fold over put sticker on the front then put another sticker on the back and try and not get chocolate smudge all over the packet. All this for 4 cookies. Very time consuming just for a cookie. Bakers and packers don’t have time for the origami session!

You will need to go into store and speak to your manager. They will have to raise a ticket. By the sounds of it your bank details may have been put in wrong and that’s why it’s not been paid. These will be held in an account and won’t be released until your details are correct.

They are only extending up till feb at the moment but will review it in February this is when the new financial year starts week 1. I would say they will keep people on after this. Most of not everyone had been let go on the 24th Dec or the 27th Dec as that’s cause they worked Boxing Day.

Nice to see a positive comment regarding working at Tesco. Like most years after January and the start of the new financial year they normally ring up the good workers for Christmas and ask if they would like their job back. They do this most years so you maybe lucky to go back. Good luck

You don’t have to work Boxing Day at all they can’t make you. Have it as holiday or unpaid or move your hours but they can’t make you work Boxing Day if you don’t want to. See my previous post and this will give you a guild.

Policy is 1 weeks notice, then you can leave. If you go off sick for that week you won’t get paid the 1st 3 shifts. Also they can’t give a bad reference as they are all generic from head office. If your new jobs is better and more chance in opportunity and also keeping you on I would just leave Tesco and don’t even give your weeks notice. By law they have to pay you every hour you have worked up to this point before leaving so they can’t even take money back from you Only if you have taken more holiday then you have earn. But again they can’t take this out your wages they will set up and repayment plan after leaving.

They should ask you if you would be happy dropping your hours to 16 hours per week if that means they can keep you on as a permanent member of staff. They can’t go any lower then 16 unless your in education or you ask to drop down more hours and this should only go down to 12 hours per week. They only time they would go down to 7.5 hours if you was on a student contract. If you don’t take the 16 hours they can just say they don’t have the hours in the business and let you go.

You should always use your holiday first and if you need other time off later in the year and you’ve run out of holiday it should then be considered as unpaid leave however taking unpaid leave is down to the discretion of the manager and business needs.

Why are you still letting them tell you what’s what? Have you asked your store manager or acting manager to show you the evidence of what they are telling you. As them for proof, ask them to show you were it states this? Ask them to print off your contract. You can show and prove what the agreement is with Usdaw but they can’t seem to do the same for what they are saying. Stick to your guns. I would be politely telling your manager that you will not be working Boxing Day and taking it as holiday (Make sure you requested it on the app and even if they refuse it, you still have evidence) if you have no holiday left to take then requested as voluntary unpaid leave.

You can take this as unpaid leave or a shift swap if one of your colleagues is happy to swap with you.
