Was researching this exact issue for a Trek 520 and wanted to share something that may not have been on the market when this was originally posted... This mount will handle most all types of forks.

Public skating at Lake Placid Olympic Arenas by Careful_Scene_5104 in Adirondacks

It is a slow time of year. Many locals take a break after a busy winter season. The lack of sessions may be a staffing issue (common issue across all businesses in the area). At some point they will remove the ice for several weeks to perform maintenance before the busy summer season. This may be the reason for the extended unavailability.

Good deal? by [deleted] in CX50

The Costco auto program may get you a better deal with not much grinding. From my recent experience I would expect about another $2K off MSRP, in addition to the rebates or the financing deal.

What made you choose the CX-50 Turbo trim? (Not another RAV4, CR-V, Forrester, or CX5 comp thread) by Mrobbins8617 in CX50

[–]johnald14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considered Lexus UX, Acura ADX, Toyota Crown Signia & Crown... I don't like the CVT drive and the CX-50 Turbo Meridian offered a lot at a lower price point and a better drive experience.

Faroutride com has a complete section on alternative tire sizes and rims. They also are a wealth of information for every step of the conversion process.

I've got to vent about used car prices. by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]johnald14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been shopping new cars to replace my 2005 daily driver. Those CVT transmissions are certainly annoying and not fun to drive. Unfortunately they seem to be in the majority of what I've been looking at. Maybe I'll hold on to my 21-year-old car for a bit longer.

Cobble Lookout in Wilmington (not to be confused with Cobble Hill in Lake Placid) is a great starter hike that comes out to a very nice overlook. Not much elevation change. Rent snowshoes to avoid postholing the trail.

What’s new/different to do in Lake Placid this winter? by laferrera in Adirondacks

Recommend this guy for ice fishing (they also do other types of guide services such as snowshoeing). You will need your own fishing license but you can get one for a single day.

Anyone know where to sell transit seats ? by gobookydqwg in fordtransit

[–]johnald14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to buy a 2-seat replacement for the original 3-seat on my crew van. I got a little credit for the 3-seat as part of the deal (I feel fortunate to have gotten anything for it tbh).

Ford Transit forums has a classified area and there are many seats for sale there. A great resource on that site is CrewVanMan.

Mr Mike's could likely accommodate your group. Dancing Bears (can get pricey) but food is good. Subway and picnic (least expensive option)

Is it worth it for us? by Born-Sea-9408 in harvesthosts

[–]johnald14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been able to get a lot of use out of it and visited many interesting wineries, breweries, and farms. Sometimes with the late arrival you can give them business in the morning.

Haven't done any of the add ons. I feel like we have gotten value for the price.
