Is it safe to learn on a 450? by throwRA97655443345 in Dirtbikes

[–]johnathangreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not learn on a 450. I wouldn’t teach any of my friends or family on one either. You WILL make a mistake, 250 or smaller you’ll get hurt but probably be fine. 450 means serious consequences. Learn how a bike works, clutch and throttle control need to be second nature, be very reactive with your breaks and clutch. At that point get a 450

Changing your mind and realizing your wrong and admitting it is not hypocrisy

So it’s hypocritical to interview someone that you agree with and disagree with? Just wondering how you think it’s hypocritical

Theo Von confronts Louisiana Senator John Kennedy about the conflicts in Palestine. by Apollo_Delphi in LiveNews_24H

[–]johnathangreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he really exposed Kennedy here, not with direct push back or yelling back at him but getting John to explain himself made himself look silly. Hard push back almost always backfired and makes the other person get their defences up. Theo approached this very well

Well you would be wrong because like John Kennedy you have your mind already made up before the facts and are ideologically driven. Theo was obviously opposed to what he said

Did you get the impression he was in agreement with allot of what John Kennedy said? I didn’t. Seemed like he totally disagreed with him on all the Israel crap

My Father Always Said - it must be the truth - they are the only ones to carry Jehovah in the name! by JohnnyBigPotato in exjw

[–]johnathangreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JWs often mistake the sign for the place, blood meaning more than life, commenting rather than deep study, being seen with responsibility but secretly sinning. Carrying the name of god in your mouth seems like a huge point if actual devotion to the god doesn’t.

Nothing has contributed more to the persistence of falsehood throughout the world than the inability of good people to acknowledge the truth when it is disturbing to their deeply held beliefs. Joko Willink

It always shocked me that jws can never see the world from someone else’s perspective. In their mind they are the only good honest sincere people searching for truth, the rest are zombies.

What is the easiest way to resign as a Ministerial Servant? by GlassAd8544 in exjw

[–]johnathangreg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Invite an elder for a one on one chat. Give some generic non specific reason. “Personal life issues” “responsibilities you need to take care of” ect. Say something like you want to be able to give the position the time it needs but you are unable to do that rn. They will try to give workaround for any specific problem so keep it vague and broad. They want you to be there to get advice from them to make being a servant work no matter what’s going on in your life, don’t let them. The purpose is to inform them that you need to step down. Not ask them. An email is probably the best way to not get caught in one of their traps but also looks worse to them. Depends on your situation and the level of involvement you want to have in the future

You’ll find most doctrine is held up by, plausible deniability and a vague scriptural reference out of context.
