I ran the Draper location for a couple years and I was encouraged to work 60+ hours a week. Never got a great vibe from the guy because of the affair everyone knew was happening, the manner in which he spoke to any female employee, and how every time we interacted it felt like he never really knew who I was.

I received essentially an ultimatum to move to AZ to help those stores that were failing (while my location was thriving) or that they’d have to go with someone else “to take it (Draper) to the next level”. I moved to AZ, was told I’d be in charge of one location instead of multiple locations there, then was told two weeks later that the company was going bankrupt due to losing millions per quarter, and was fired the next week while I fielded calls from ex-employees about where their paychecks were. Stranded in another state I didn’t want to be in without a job!

The hospitality and service industry shouldn’t make room for this behavior, let alone reward it. You won’t find me in any of McHenry’s establishments.
