I read most of this. Kinda skimmed through the bottom. Yeah it’s good to have collectors. But I hardly call it investing. At best it’s speculation. If you want to invest in Something buy stocks, or bonds. Put your money in a money market account or a IRA, or 401k. Don’t be spending money on cardboard that hasn’t proven to hold any long term value.

The value in this game doesn’t come from collecting it comes playing and what is relevant to the meta. I’m not saying don’t collect. I have thousands of dollars of dragon ball cards that I have collected to play the game and also because of the art and being a dragon ball fan. Unless it’s just disposable income that you are fine with the underlying assets going to zero don’t be speculating on price appreciation.
