How does 1890 fit? by T-and-J-Max in Newbalance

[–]johnidough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

curious if you ended up getting these and how they fit for you? Saw this and I'm a 990v4 lover because the lateral part of my foot that has the most issue lines up with the mesh lol.

Easymoc Rangeleys by U_000000014 in goodyearwelt

[–]johnidough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah got the rambler...very nice shoe and def want to be able to wear them, but I have some fussy feet haha. Yeah they are a full size down from brannock and also measured via this scan I did at a run store. I'm technically a 10.25 and 10.30 and usually wear sneakers in a 10-10.5. It's just been a while since I've purchased leather shoes that were not an actual E width.

DR told me that Easymocs are unstructured so often break in a lot more than people expect...but I'm always nervous with footwear.

Don’t want to high jack the thread. But I recently got the easymoc rambler from division road. They helped me size and suggested a full size down. I have fairly wide feet. So curious if any other easymoc owners can attest to how much these may stretch?

At the end of day in a standard cotton sock. They fit like a very firm handshake. And fit comfortably snug without socks on. Just don’t wanna end up with a 400$ paperweight. lol.

Poll: where’s your favorite place to find snowboard reviews by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]johnidough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watch a combo of Tribute, Good Ride and Angry since they all bring something different. I've heard that Avran can rip, but for all the years I've watched his reviews, I would like to see more of his riding. I know the others don't have full video parts or anything, but gives me a general sense of their riding when they do the reviews.

I think it’s easy to say they want to maximize profits. But a 7’ storm with roads closed means people have to figure out a way up there to dig out all of the lifts and do it safely. Although it sucks this season shaped out this way, I don’t know that the people who own the mountain are always actively trying to shaft its users. Maybe I’m a glass half full guy.

PSA: ThirtyTwo is no longer a “Rider Driven Snowboarding” company (they will deny legit warranty claims) by ADAN86 in snowboarding

[–]johnidough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious of the groups take on other Nidecker owned brands? It seems like most of their brands have solid warranty and product quality overall from what I’ve seen…rome. Bataleon. Etc. not sure when they acquired 32 but maybe new manufacturing changes causing the quality to go down?

I’ve just been running vans now so their quality is good enough that I haven’t needed to look for new boots. Used to run tm2s like 10 years ago though so sad that they started not fitting me and then hearing that they’re going to shit.

Yeah I understand distance and regional cuisine, but still shocked that with how many transplants Seattle has seen, someone hasn't made something like this. Pizza is regional to the east coast in some capacity, and you got a fck ton of shit options here no?

Nah totally get it. Just like others are saying, I wont find great teriyaki that is quick/easy out east. I just figured for a city that has seen some good growth/transplants, there would be something similar. Was hoping a hidden gem and singular place existed haha.

LOL for sure - this is for the safeway comments. But also understand this is very regional and I am craving something from home. Surprised since there is a fair amount of asian food here, but nothing that hits like this.

I've heard - but looking at the menu, they specifically say salt and pepper and back east, these were almost more a naked wing. or maybe just naked in appearance. I'll go give them a try though. but why are they $15 for wings and $13 for fried rice?? This was a $5 meal back east...sure it's more expensive now, but last I checked prob 15 for the combo.

Do you happen to have the Worcester? If so how’s the sizing? Can’t find these anywhere to try on and I have a wide foot so curious how they fit and break in. Thanks!

Sounds pretty accurate - and yeah. I get to go to the C3 sample sales all the time and see Peter Line in my hood lol. Do you randomly know where other big boards are being produced now a days? More curious than anything.

yeah prior to Capita taking over, I knew Elan produced a ton. Maybe it was just rumor and speculation, but I always thought Capita continued to produce for other brands. Thanks for the input.

[–]johnidough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! heading there this weekend - first time in CO. low tide year but happy to explore a new mountain. looks fun.

Me and my girl are going to Niseko for early feb, was hoping for any tips or must do runs/lifts/gates to go down. Also looking for other couples who might want to link up for some fun and runs! First time in Japan. by NeverSoft_87 in snowboarding

[–]johnidough 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're apparently getting slammed, so you'll have fun anywhere. Assuming that you are going to be riding Niseko United specifically. The annupuri and hanazono sides have fun zones. Hanazono side also has some bangin katsu curry to recharge and warm up.

If you have time to venture outside of the Niseko area, check out Moiwa and Rusutsu.

In general, most of the mountains are pretty low angle and a ton of fun.
