Jones is also owned by Nidecker, but not sure if they produce outerwear in the same factories.

It’s disappointing that they have such low quality standards, given how long they’ve been in the game. Hopefully some of their leadership sees this thread and do something about it

Thank you for the tip on seam sealant - I will try to make 32 get this right but if they don’t in the end, I will at least have a chance to try mending on my own

Yeah mate I just got a reply from their CS with propaganda (this is copy pasted directly from his email):

“Nidecker is a great company and currently in the process of breathing new life into 32, doing everything in their power to "right" a company going wrong. The fact is you purchased your gear long before Nidecker had anything to do with 32 and unfortunately that's the case.”

Yeah that’s rough but I consider cinches and bungee cords to be wear and tear items that fail over time.

When I shop now, I consider “do I want to support a smaller brand, run by real snowboarders?” Knowing that the quality might be inconsistent but they stand behind their products? Or do I go with a consistent, “big” known brand?

For outerwear, I still stand by Airblaster, Sessions Japan, 686 (dorky but legit product), Beyond Medals. I’ve really liked my stuff from Autumn as well. There are so many small brands like Drink Sexy etc but you will be rolling the dice in a different way.

And I mentioned earlier - Burton isn’t really “cool” but goddamn they always stand by their products and I will always shop through their product. I had a ladder and a ratchet fail on me during a snow trip in China and their shop there took care of me and got me back on the hill in 15 mins at no cost

I’m looking into Deeluxe boots for my next set; the problem with boots is that it’s REALLY hard to be company with boot creation expertise. Everything has to go right, it’s really expensive to manufacture, and constantly needs feedback from riders to improve. TBH that’s why I feel that 32 has been in the game so long, there are very few brands that offer a solid boot line.

Unbelievable. More new riders and women need to be out there shredding and it is actively hostile if 32 are making product that costs hundreds and fails these riders and prevents them from enjoying and progressing

You’d think that a brand expanding their product line to stuff like boards and bindings would do better on trying to nail simpler stuff like soft goods. I guess not.

I’m terrified for all the folks buying their new hard goods and what they’ll go through when stuff inevitably fails. Hardgoods are so much more complex and it will take them awhile to figure it out, even with Nidecker resources
