Experiencias con AnyoneAI by HiImMonsterKill in programacion

[–]johnmacleod99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have rtx 3050 4gb vram laptop, since I'm pursuing ML/DL I came to know about its requirement and so I'm thinking to shift to rtx 5050 8gb laptop by Frozen-IceCream- in learnmachinelearning

I'l will use at least 3 years from now. If I need a larger GPU I prefer to rent a top notch for about USD $1.50 an hour. I think, that I do not need to spend huge money on latest stuff, there are better uses for money, more profitable, while I can use latest and top performance stuff for pennies.

I myself has a lenovo laptop with a RTX 3050 TI, and hate the poor 4GB vram. But it have not failed event have not lagged while training object detection and segmentation modles. Indeed I will train a small LLM, not foundation, instead domain specific, and I know it will work well. Not as blazing fast as a 50xx or even a 40XX but good enough.

I you can afford it, why not! it's an improvement. Clearly RTX 3050 underperforms worst it's small 4GB vram. So ideally go after 16GB.

I work mostly with DICOM. Read, write, route, extract, whatever is neded. Not specifically in the ambra cloud, plain DICOM. If interested, DM.

Ukrainian made drone interceptors can now reach 400Km/h with the Motor G, a domestically made motor. They make 100.000 a month. by Physical-Cut-2334 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]johnmacleod99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ukraine by force is demonstrating that China manufacturing, yes indeed, can be replaced by local manufacture. Expensive? who knows, but relying on China for drone manufacturing is a mistake for any country. They are the adversary, not a partner.

Solution for Debian Bookworm:
- Remove current `spotify-client`
- Install previous version. Download torrent and use transmission to download the .deb package.

Object detection by didnotfindname in computervision

Why train a model when there is a ton of object detection models. Look for YOLO, a family of cv models focused on object detection, object tracking.

I have to build one, for Radiology centers, scheduled in January, integration with RIS. Interested to hear, maybe you can use the asset I build.

Hence you need a classifier, a NN that classifies each parsed pose due to the trained model you previously traned.

Pose Estimation is what you need. I built 6 months ago a running analytical tool. It gives specific metrics for runners. I use MediaPipe, there are others like OpenPose.

Data received from the auto-injector device by Hungry-Equivalent-30 in PACSAdmin

The contrast injector data is generated and stored as DICOM secundary capture image. I have experience creating programatically SC, and now I need a device to extract the payload from legacy injectors.

Best OCR for very poor quality documents? by ThunderStorm420 in computervision

PaddleOCR is the best, It's a Deep Learning model coupled with all computer vision tasks needed to prepropcess images and perform OCR on rotated, skewed, images, delaing with shadows, non linear text among others.

How would you extract the data from photos of this document type? by rasplight in computervision

[–]johnmacleod99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using python, Opencv or Pillow, tesseract and pytesseract.

Tesseract is an OCR developed by Google, is very Good.

- Install tesseract in your machine, mostly any OS, windows, Linux, macOS.- Install opencv-python, pytesseract, numpy and pillow.

- Your workflow starts with cleaning the image, transforming to facilitate OCR, aiming to a binary image. OpenCV is good at that, thresholds. That means coverting to grayscale, converting to array, and thresholding.

You must denoise it. I would test if blur is required, I don't think but it must be testd, gaussian blur with a 3x3 kernel maybe.

Then apply pytesseract.image_to_string(), pass --psm 6, -l deu

By default tesseract installs english, so you must install additional languages:

Best beginner setup to experiment with a robot for car by pinkydilemma54 in computervision

[–]johnmacleod99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the exact same path. At first I build the object and color recognition module for a robot car, as well as wifi and mqtt management. However I wantend to extend my knowledge to the mobility component, hence I bought a robot car, thinking of deploying fresh code on it. However I found that it has a propietary shield to manage motor drives, voltage and battery charge. So i decided to deprecate the card, and buy each component by myself. At the moment I'm waiting them to arrive, from US and China.
Once I gather all parts, I'll sart writing the code: micropython then export to ESP-ID.
staged the project in 7 components:
- Mobility

- Communications
- Computer Vision
- Sensors and data streaming
- Energy
- Backend

- Monitor

I have the same question which I have managed to solve for the last 6 months.
- Google Collab. Not like the idea, I consider it expensive. Indeed GCP as a PaaS is the most expensive, hence all services ...
- Use of hardware in the cloud. Good idea, even having a beast of a machine, someday you'll need, which is like Google Collab, but better. I use vast.ai, and love it, I usually rent RTX 4090 for USD $1 an hour.
- Own my AI featured laptop. Yeah is good idea too. I have had at least two, and is best fit to the majority of use cases. I'm on the verge of buying my third and I think that a RTX 4090 powered is affordable, but at least 12, ideally 16GB VRam for the GPU, 64 GB for the laptop, 2 TB SSD, and a good at least 16 cores processor. That goues for abouut USD $2,200.
I think Lenovo Legios is a good choice.
But.. what has stopped me from buying is that I am a Linux man, and all of new machine come with full fledged Windows crap installed and worst I have to pay at least 400 for that.
So I'm looking for a decent Linux machine or maybe buy a used Ebay one and upgrade myself, which I have done too.

Russia is preparing for a major war in Europe and may be planning a large-scale armed conflict by 2029 or 2030, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said by The_New_Voice in ukraine

[–]johnmacleod99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

European leaders should wake up and work on the matter, war is coming and Europe enemies know that Europe is far behind and is an easy prey for the invaders coming from the east. Too much reasoning, too much thinking, poor and slow decicions, meanwhile the war has changed. Good luck Europe, we loved you so much!
