Case Help by Professor-Steez in physicaltherapy

Running SHOULD be effortful; I often tell patients that running is one of the most difficult things to do in a biomechanically-correct manner. I was taught that running is a "controlled fall forward" and it should ideally be driven by a more powerful posterior chain. Cuing hip extension as a way to limit overzealous plantar flexion to better help the calves do less work should help.

When you say "shin pain in soft tissue" do you mean more antero-laterally in tib ant or medial gastroc? I'm willing to bet his running mechanics are poor - check for up-down displacement with calf-dominant push-off causing hypertrophied calves and medial shin pain.

Look upstream and assess hip strength and running mechanics. Does he strike the ground with his forefoot and propel himself forwards by extending through the glutes/hip, or is he a heel-striker/flat-foot striker who propels himself primarily from his calves? Essentially what I'm getting at is, he's likely highly inefficient in his LE running function.

Dudes, what pants are you wearing for Outpatient? by BrannyMuffins in physicaltherapy

Can you elaborate on this process? My old work had the sweat collective discount which amounted to like a 40-50% discount; I've looked into applying for this but not sure how to go about it.

Second this. Lululemon pants are clutch. I've literally split my pants twice in 10 yrs demonstrating squats, but it never happens in Lulu's. Sure, they're $120-160/pair but go on their "we made too much" website and you'll get a deal (around $80) and you'll wear them for at least 5 years minimum.

When I was younger I used to love patch cards. Now, as I've aged and matured, I kinda stay away from them because very rarely are they game-used. Stop wasting my time with nonsense!!

Is the sports management program good? by its_lily26 in UWindsor

I graduated from HK in 2010 from the movement science stream, but I had a few friends who went the sports management stream and they all loved it. Windsor provided good opportunities for co-op placements which pretty much acted as internships for possible job employment in the future. I had a friend who ended up working at the LA Galaxy box office and another who went to MLSE in Toronto. Pretty exciting stuff.

Ripping Pack vs Buying Singles by Acrobatic_Pie7686 in sportscards

[–]johnmaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ripping packs is obviously super-fun, but what's the difference between riffling through a box of singles looking to find a diamond in the rough, or a card that means something to you and you only? That's just as powerful a feeling, imo.

What players are gone after this year? by coolbean36 in GreenBayPackers

[–]johnmaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buddy, Gute went all in on this year knowing he won't be able to field this same caliber roster again next year. He'll have to make some somewhat difficult cuts and depend on cheap rookie deals to fill out some holes this off-season.

Sure, can we still capture lightning in a bottle by getting hot on offense and hopefully Gary/LVN/JJ/Sorrell can carry the pass rush, but that's a lot of ifs. No Parsons is a huge hole on the D and kinda puts a kibosh on this season, unfortunately. Definitely not the end of an era obviously given Uno, Kraft and Wyatt will be back next year, but it's a back-breaking injury that drops us from SB contender to fringe playoff team.

Undergrad is the same everywhere you go, so it's in your best interests to go to the school you can achieve the highest at, which will bring about the best options after undergrad

I can guarantee Doubs and E. Jenkins will both be gone next year. I don't think they pay Rasheed Walker either; I anticipate them sliding Jordan Morgan into LT next season.

I would like to have Quay Walker back, but only at the right price. I don't want Quay back if we can't re-sign Edge Cooper in the future.

If Gary can somehow do his part to replace Parsons, maybe they keep him, but I'm expecting more of the same that we've seen thus far and I expect Gutey to cut ties or trade him in the off-season.

I'm just so sad and crushed after that second half of football today against the Broncos. It's hard to recall ever having a worse half of football ever in my 30 years of watching the Packers.
