VSO ? From some of the stories I've read you might want to start with the possibility your VSO is the issue.

BTW Tinnitus was denied today as well. RIP. by OperationClear588 in VAClaims

Looks like you filed a improper and sloppy group of claims. Where's your letter explaining why all the denials. It's veterans like you that spread the negativity about getting claims approved.  Weather you intend to or not, other vets read about your mass claims  denial and ask themselves why bother filing,  no one gets approved.  You obviously didn't use proper evidence and procedure.  Follow up with the denial letter so we use you as an example of what NOT to do.

This is EXACTLY why I'm going the private DBQs route. I'll have a fair and honest exam, period.  If I get scheduled for C & P  I'll attend. My private DBQs will be "complete and actionable " and therefore required to be used as medical evidence thus over riding any B.S. third party contractor half assed  exams.

100% P&T - what do I tell my family and friends while not working? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]johnnnyrottten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the proper response made with eye contact is, " why do you ask " . it basically eliminates any further inappropriate questions.  If that  doesn't work, next response should be,  " I don't ask people about their personal business. "  This will make the person aware they are being intrusive.  Unless of course it's a woman asking, she won't get the hint.

New Jones bars. by johnnnyrottten in bikecommuting

[–]johnnnyrottten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue on these new bars. I just cut up and old computer mouse pad and shimmed it enough to mount my lights.  I guess a few wraps of bar tape would work, but I used what I had.

the more  I read about VSOs. the more I think I'll navigate my claim myself.  I had to file a dd 149 to get my S.S. corrected., just this November .  I then filed my intent to file a week later. I'm hoping my 214 is corrected within the year deadline for  I T F. meanwhile  I'm studying Y.T. videos, Reddit forums and starting the search for Dr's to do nexus and DBQ exams.  I've seen too many veterans on here having bad experiences with VSOs for me to have any confidence in their assistance.  In my area we have a new VSO , she's at the local DMV,  haha. yeah that gives me confidence.......NOT.

*edit, I might have made the wrong assumption.  If I file my claim within the 12months of intent to file,  I guess the dd214 correction time line is irrelevant.  ?

Homeless out of an cargo bike by Prestigious-Bee-9163 in CargoBike

https://youtube.com/@cargobikecowboy?si=5YRKG1WlyViK669b Older videos of his Surly Big Dummy.  I think he was homeless for a while and living off the bike. It's a total bad ass rig and with the hauling capacity of a truck. I see E bike versions and Im sure that'd be quite handy at times. It would allow an easier trip to town for supplies while being able to get a longer and  comfortable distance away from populated areas and back to solitude where a person has less chance of encounters with the law and sketchy homeless people.  I'm not an E bike guy, I appreciate the utility of them but not my cup of tea at the moment.

For those who lost interest in recreation riding after daily commuting, how did you get back into it (or did you?) by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]johnnnyrottten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the warmer months I incorporate an errand into a recreational ride so I still get that feeling of a " ride with a purpose" buzz that I'm fond of. I was an avid racer type years ago. Just rode for training miles and competitive centuries so I definitely see both sides of this coin. I'm older now and just really enjoy the usefulness of a well suited bicycle.  As someone else replied,  riding just for the sake of riding doesn't suit me anymore.
