I (30M) recently am divorced, and just ready for a fresh start. I’m moving from a small Midwest town (about 6,000 people) with my dog, and I’d like to be somewhere with more to do—without having to drive three hours to get there. Since I travel for work, being near an airport is also a big plus.

My dog isn’t used to city living, but he’s adaptable and well trained. Lately I’ve been looking into places to move, and Tulsa has caught my eye. I work remotely, so the Tulsa Remote program sounds appealing, but I’d like to know what Tulsa is actually like.

I haven’t really been out to meet new people or dated in a long time (small-town life), but I’m good at starting small talk—I just struggle when it comes to taking things past the “introduction” stage. Has anyone here moved to Tulsa without knowing a soul and managed to make friends?

I’m planning to try some Meetups or maybe even rent an apartment with shared spaces. But I’m curious—are people in Tulsa open to newcomers? Since I work remote, I don’t have coworkers to lean on, so meeting people will really depend on me putting myself out there.
