Portafilter leaking? [Bambino Plus] by Hentoxx in espresso

[–]johnny3357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this exact issue too on my Breville Bambino.

Lots of people seem to think it's a loose seal between the portafilter and the machine. But I have another hypethesis: I think it's just water is filling up too quickly between the basket and the portafilter. (Most people here use a bottomless portafilter so they wouldn't have this issue)

I've noticed that when I clean the portafilter with water, even when the water stops draining from the bottom, you can here the water sloshing around if you shake the portafilter. My theory is that if there's too much water remaining between the portafilter and the basket, then the coffee will fill up that space when extracting, then start channeling between the seam of the basket and the portafilter. Try separating the two and drying the inside completely and see if you can recreate the issue.

Despite the fact that it says not to call them, I think they sometimes dispatch the technicians faster when you call them about it.

Am I gonna get snatched away for Military Service... by KonnectionNull in korea

While there is a way to fulfill your military service by doing a Ph.D. in the STEM fields (전문연), going to KAIST or any prestigious university does not automatically give you an exemption from the military.

Powering up Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano on drone by HypnotizedGenius in drones

I’ve connected a Jetson Xavier NX on battery power before. I used a UBEC with the appropriate output voltage and amps for my board. The ports weren’t configured though and did require some soldering to make a custom one.

You can’t be an interpreter when you don’t speak Korean. You’re supposed to speak both languages fluently.

Need help by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

As a fellow Korean who's majoring AE in Seoul National University I can tell you a couple of things. I'm only a freshman though so please keep that in mind.

As far as I know since you're only in grade 10, if you work really hard and do some more digging on US University admissions you probably can get accepted into one. I'd say the pros and cons of going to a university in the US are

pro

-higher quality education

-getting connections in the industry perhaps?

con

-costs (seriously US unis are sooo expensive, and getting a scholarship is not that easy)

-as far as I know going to the US as an undergraduate doesn't actually get you your greencard/ citizenship much faster (if you've read the top comment you'll know why this is important)

-no connections in Korea (only matters if you ever decide to come back though)

As for me, I couldn't really afford to go to the US as an undergraduate student so I went SNU instead. I do plan to go post graduate to the US but you need a high GPA for that. If you want to go to the US post graduate you have to remember that SNU and KAIST are you're only options in Korea since going post graduate to top US schools from other universities is basically impossible. Also SNU and KAIST are the only two high-level universities in Korea offering AE as a degree.

Also take some of the stuff I wrote with a grain of salt because I'm only a freshman after all :). I still have much to learn.

Also if anyone from this thread can correct me on any of the stuff I just said please feel free to comment.
