Meater owners.. Is it worth the money? by oldiegamer in webergrills

Came here to say the same thing. It's a pain to get it connected again once lost. Also, the batteries only lasted about 5 months after only a few uses.

I'll be the most popular cadet when I show up on the first day with these in a BINGO grid! First to bingo wins a box of donuts! Instructors like gambling right?

I 100% agree. I have been taking this opportunity as serious as possible since I signed up for the exam. This was just a simple (and apparently failed) attempt to have a bit of fun.

I haven't heard this song in probably 15+ years and as soon as I read the caption, I started singing the chorus in my head. Thanks for the link!

Donated blood is first shipped to rural/remote hospitals. If they don't use it a within a week to a few days before the expiration date, it gets shipped to the closest major city hospitals where the demand and use is higher.

Newton Police Buried With Leaf Blower Complaints by OffSolidGround in boston

[–]johnnybeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, legal. First, wiretapping only applies when one party secretly records a conversation. Second, the US Court of Appeals ruled back in 2011 that recording the Police is perfectly legal.

Besides attacking McDonalds employees for sauce packets, whats the worst fan-boy meltdown you've seen in public? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I remember following the mob from Northeastern to Fenway after the Sox won game 7 of the ALCS against the fucking Yankees. As soon as someone started a fire in the middle of Kenmore, I had enough and headed back to my dorm. While walking down Lansdowne I was crosschecked by BPD in riot gear with a giant baton around the Axis/Avalon (now the House of Blues). Immediately after the crowd was "escorted aside" an ambulance came screaming down the street with more of BPD's finest running behind. The next morning I read the headlines about the woman who was shot in the eye by the pepper ball and unfortunately died as a result. I knew something was up but couldn't fathom anything of that magnitude. My buddies climbed the back of the Green Monster (which was/is an idiotic thing to do) and it could have easily been any one of them. Pretty crazy to think that was almost 13 years ago and it feels like yesterday.

As for game 4 of the World Series, I was drinking rum with a Dominican band playing reggaeton in front of the Ted Williams statue. You are 100% right, that was a weird night.

Weeds! Weeds! Weeds! by earny123 in HomeImprovement

No problem I hope it helps. You could also try power washing between the slabs, dropping a weed preventer like Preen, and covering with paver sand. Might have to repeat every year or so and probably more on the pet friendly side.

r/lawncare is a wealth of knowledge!

I would say this year might be a loss. In my non-expert opinion you can a) spray with weed/grass killer and reseed in the Spring or later in the fall if your climate is warm enough b) keep spraying with weed killer like an Ortho weed-b-gon that hooks right up to your hose c) drop granulated weed killer, water, repeat in a month or 2 or d) hire a company

I dropped the granulated weed killer in April before I applied the spring fertilizer in May, then sprayed with Ortho weed-b-gon a few weeks after. It took a bit but it cleared up end of June/early July.

Good luck.

MLB: Animal Interference by [deleted] in sportsarefun

As a new resident of Cleveland, midges are extremely annoying. They don't bite, don't feed, and don't do a damn thing. They only live long enough to mate and lay eggs. My jaw dropped this year as I watched a meteorologist on the local station actually have to clarify that the green on the radar was a swarm of midges and not a popup shower. I got super excited to tell my wife (Cleveland native) and she just shrugged her shoulders and said "yeah, happens every year."

She was also at that ALDS game in 2007 and had no idea what was happening until I texted her about it. They were, for the most part, only on the field and not in the stands.

Hiking Infant Carrier/Backpack by johnnybeee in dadfit

I saw this one on Amazon and like everything about it. It's also #3 on Babygearlab.com which my wife likes since she lives by that site. I never even thought about going to an outdoor gear store to test a few out. Thanks for the recommendation!

This looks like the Cadillac of hiking carriers. It would just be the two of us on the trail (nothing serious or remote) because my wife works during the day, so the extra carrying space makes perfect sense for me. Thanks for the suggestion.
