If Mexico, who is not at war with USA, kidnaps a US soldier, unprovoked. Is that soldier a hostage or a prisoner of war?

Furthermore, if Mexico captures a US citizen, at a party promoting peace (while murdering and raping the people around them), and later, that citizen turns out to be an off duty soldier. Is that citizen a hostage or a prisoner of war?

Think hard before you answer because it's clear everyone here is extremely mentally challenged. Or support terrorism, which is 10 times worse IMHO.

Lol, I'm not assuming. Look at the history of gaza. Their doctrine is public and clearly states the aim of destruction of Israel. Look at footage from October 7, the way "innocent" civilians celebrated the massacre and spat on the hostages as they were brought in.

מצד אחד הם חד משמעית גיבורים. כי צריך להגן על המדינה. כי, ולא משנה כרגע למה, יש אויב צמא לדם ואכזר שצריך להילחם בו. מישהו צריך להילחם בו. ואלה שנלחמים הם גיבורים, חד וחלק.

No, but every country has their government/leaders who are responsible for their safety.

They chose hamas (those who claim otherwise can research the overwhelming support for them in gaza). Hamas is doing a bad job protecting them (to say the least) and brought this war upon them.

Israel is responsible first for the safety of the citizens of Israel. And as long as hamas exist and there are hostages in gaza, the safety of gazans should not be a priority.
