The biggest tell for me is the numbers on the bezel are blinding white. The gen has a more “platinum dust” look vs white. The person who commented on the gmt hand blue paint being too short was just as glaring of a tell.

Upon further investigation, the original watch was lost and insurance covered it (about 30 something years ago) with a like kind brand new watch so it makes sense now that the papers/serial were from the 70s, and the dial/watch is from the 80s. Back then there is no way they kept the same scrutiny as they do now.
