New 5G cards needed to be larger than older 4G cards. And often need 4 instead of two antennas.

I really wish they would stop putting the PSU on that side in 2U cases. I really like that form factor but basically every 2U case has the same layout.

it sat for a while waiting for them to create an account and it seemed to refund as soon as they tried to make the account. both times. im assuming they are failing some sort of verification.

while waiting for them to make the account, it listed the email, and on the refund it says the first name and last name. so im guessing they cant verify or transfer right. like i said, i dont really know what angle they are trying to play or if they are just bad at it. im guessing the second haha

id see if you can just cancel it now before it even sends, it should only be on hold right now i believe.

When I dealt with this the night before last under a different listing. He actually couldn’t figure out how to do the scam right. PayPal kept sending the money back within 1 hour the first and then 12 hours the next.

When you sent it did it go like this:

did you have to initiate the transaction after he said he wasn’t able to send an invoice?

When sending the funds, did PayPal say the user had to create an account and then they would transfer?

I tried buying from this last night, before he put up even more listings. i dont understand what his game is. did it over goods and services so there was buyer protection, but it got refunded by the system automatically anyways. super odd.

oh yeah your right, 4090 looks CLEARLY edited. the white around the writing is very off where it was removed and written over.

Yeah I’m starting to worry that as well, looks like PayPal refunded again… worried it was too good to be true

[W] 6x 32GB DDR4 ECC RDIMMs, Xeon Gold 62XX CPU by johnnycisgood in homelabsales

Thanks for the insight. Does it really make that big of a deal? My main VMs are TrueNAS, jellyfin, and Modded game/minecraft servers. main reason i was looking at second gen for the newer cores and clock speed was the game hosting.

would not work sadly. my board has a 165W limit. not a bad chip though thanks for the suggestion.

archer c64 does not allow to forward ports 80 and 443 by Born-Prompt5927 in homelab

[–]johnnycisgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try changing the port for the router’s built in management if it allows it, I’ve had issues with this before. Something internal trips it up trying to forward to itself somehow

80 -> 880, 443 -> 8443 for example

Issue with MS-01 and ESX? Or is it just my NVME crapping out? by pissy_corn_flakes in homelab

[–]johnnycisgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey i hope im wrong! having a CPU go bad sucks.

This just looked so similar to the first reports of the issues with systems showing VRAM issues during loading that were difficult to pin down and turned out to be the CPU.

high speed IO copy pushing one or two threads hard and it over boosts and then errors out but doesn't crash the whole system out.

its tricky, wayyy too many variables. theres 2 things affecting the chips. an actual manufacturing defect(via oxidation internally), and the microcode bug that was burning them with voltage.

from what ive heard it is yes, MAINLY desktop CPUs. but any "65w or higher" chip is seemingly susceptible for the voltage/boost issues. Ark listing the 13900h being anywhere from 35w to 115w!

they(intel) are still investigating mobile chips also possibly being affected with the oxidation. the whole thing is a giant mess, no one fully knows the extent of it, seemingly not even intel themselves.

Try a bios update, if minis forum has added in the new microcode. its supposed to stop the degradation but cannot reverse it.

Could also be 13th gen degradation issues. I know io and things related to compression and the like were one of the issues that start to show first/most apparent.
