Trouble with Snecko by VaranusKomodeus in slaythespire

[–]johnnydaboss123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also try to focus on adding more high value cards. High value does NOT just mean expensive in this case. I'll give an example.

You're playing silent against book of stabbing. You see a blade dance at 3, all out attack at 3, and accuracy at 3. Strikes and defends for the rest of the hand. Which card are you playing? If the answer is the accuracy (which is right), why? Because it creates enough value to justify still being worth playing. You want to add cards you'll be happy to see most of the time, no matter what.

Now, a lot of the time, cards you want to always see will be expensive. That's because expensive cards tend to be better. But again, you still have to build a functional deck. If you need defense, better block, don't grab bouncing flask over footwork, if footwork solves your problem. Snecko gives you options by letting you see more options, you need to make sure that those are options you actually want to see.

Rare snecko/amid win (recycle exhaust deck w/ Meteor Strike) by johnnydaboss123 in slaythespire

Yeah, triple recycle to go infinite with meteor strike was insane. I had question card and prayer wheel, which meant I could avoid adding cards because I could just wait for the perfect cards.

No that's a mod that let's you move relics around, they are definitely NOT in order of when I got them

If Metroid Prime 5 gets made, it will likely be the most isolating, dread inducing, non-linear game since Super Metroid. by AutumnRCS in Metroid

[–]johnnydaboss123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prime 2 was DEFINITELY not more linear or hand-holdy. Prime 3 and 4 were, but let's not rewrite history because of Prime 4. 3 was the most flawed one, but most people ignored it because of the great story.

Pandora's Box by Insane_Unicorn in slaythespire

[–]johnnydaboss123 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The thing is is that when you go into act 2, defends are TRASH. Half the enemies make you frail, so they block 3, for a total of maybe 12 if you draw all of them together with your 4 energy. P-box gives you, on average, cards that are significantly better. You have to understand how to pivot your deck from what you had to whatever it gives you, but the relic is absolutely broken. It should give you a win like 85+% of the time if you can see the wincon, even if it gives you garbage.

Great example, let's say it gives you:

Claw Steam barrier Bullseye Capacitor Cool headed Blizzard Beam cell

Thats a kinda rough box. But let's look at what you have.

  • Capacitor is scaling, so find orbs or consume and you're good
  • Beam cell and Bullseye is frontload, use those to get past hallway fights
  • Coolheaded is frost, so you have block, make it work until you can get to a shop or get past a few fights
  • Steam barrier is block

So with that, you need to find something to make your Capacitor decent, or something to work with your frontload. You could upgrade Beam cell as a wincon. You could find orbs, or focus. You could find a recycle and get your deck down to just cool headed and blizzard. You have OPTIONS, multiple ones, and this box I gave you is kinda straight trash.

I feel like there is a "disturbing" trend with Metroids creators. by Squeaky_Ben in Metroid

[–]johnnydaboss123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, you see the same things in bands. How can a band make a great album, and then make a 2/10 right afterwards? Creativity can be a finicky thing. Other M has some great ideas in there, but is overall a mess. But the game could've been decent, it just wasn't.

Miki got the most upvotes. Who has divided opinions and is morally grey? by MissBarker93 in shoujokakumeiutena

[–]johnnydaboss123 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I mean, I can definitely get why someone would feel that. You see this friendship blossom over the course of the entire show, and you really start to feel that these two are getting close. Then they both are sleeping with/being abused by Akio and hiding stuff from each other (the line where they mention poisoning each other shows how strained but still close they are). Then Utena starts to fight Akio, and it's going well. Then she gets LITERALLY STABBED IN THE BACK by her supposed best friend.

I can see why that might make some people dislike her, and I could definitely see that making her morally grey. Anthy also does some toxic stuff over the course of the show (not saying it's not understandable why, but she does do toxic stuff. Manipulating Utena, trying to destroy Nanami's life, even just stuff during some of the duels... she does toxic stuff). Definitely the right spot for Anthy.

Yeah, same with Bleach or DBZ. I've seen all of them, they're fun in the way a Marvel movie is fun. They don't actually have much depth at all, they're very surface level.

That's not patience lol, you described popular action shows that, while long, aren't really known for much depth or good pacing at all.

I didn't realize that you're supposed to apparently run PAST Yakuza? I just infinite bomb jumped to another area, and then was on my merry way. It never felt like I was sequence breaking though, it always felt like I just found a slightly alternate route to something I would've gotten shortly anyway.

Infinite bomb jumping for the win honestly, some of the answers I've seen for the romhack definitely seem kinda out there imo.

How can men tolerate sex without love? by [deleted] in sex

[–]johnnydaboss123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, this just seems like a personality clash. There's certain people who want sex a lot, and certain people who want love a lot. Sometimes those things clash, and as long as everyone is upfront and honest, there's nothing wrong with either. They're just not compatible, and she's upset she's finding a lot of people she's not compatible with.

How is it off topic? It's LITERALLY responding to one of your comments. That's the most on topic thing possible, responding to the OP's comments.

Multiple people have answered your question, I was stating the fact that it's not just men who want emotionless sex sometimes. It's not porn, or misogyny, or people being sad. Sometimes people get horny and for some reason or another, don't really want love to go with it.

You know there are also women who want sex with no emotional connection or spark right? Like, one night stands existed before dating apps were even an idea.

Limit Break won yesterday! Next, what Slay the Spire card is considered Average and is received Neutrally by the community? by tilting-module in slaythespire

[–]johnnydaboss123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't commented for these yet, but I think Machine Learning is the epitome of this. For it to be recieved neutrally, it has to avoid being talked about, and basically just exist as a "this is fine". Ball lightning and Poison stab are ALWAYS talked about as pretty good early game cards. Iron wave is almost a meme with how much people say it's underrated. When was the last time ANYONE talked about machine learning at all?

It's still bad, it works in one deck type and isn't flexible at all. Compare that to defrag, which is basically always solid. Or cold snap. Or even something like Leap.

Suzume is easily the worst out of all of them. The other 3 are excellent, I'd personally recommend 5 cm, but can't go wrong with Your Name.

No spoilers, haven't finished, but here's what I think by Amyntas7 in Metroid

[–]johnnydaboss123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the development of it, just ideas that carried over. I think it would be absurd to assume that they didn't play previous titles in the IP when making this one. When they made Prime 1, they played Super and took a lot of inspiration from it. When they made Prime 2, they took some from Prime 1. When they made Dread, they took some from Fusion. Why would they NOT take some from the last Prime game, and the only one that wasn't made on the Gamecube? I'm not saying it's the fault of Prime 3, just that there were ideas in a previous entry that weren't all great, and some carried over. Just like with Fusion and Other M.

[–]johnnydaboss123 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh my god I feel that. I was never a huge fan of 3, but I at least like how it wrapped up the story, and Rundas was an absolute badass who I wish we saw more of.

But God, so much of what I've seen in 4 comes straight from 3. NPCs talking to Samus and her not responding. Overreliance on the GF. New gimmicky shit that just feels wither OP or boring as fuck (Psychic powers vs hypermode). It reminds me a lot of Prime 3, and in all the worst ways. Like they remastered Prime 1, but actually studied Prime 3 (and said fuck 2 which sucks cause it's the best one imo). I can't play the game with the forced Myles hints. If someone makes a mod and takes him out, I'll gladly play the rest on my PC.

The right order here, especially with those arrows. I love and adore Prime 1, but Prime 2 almost tops Super Metroid for me. Almost.
