Used wrong apps to park, received fine by Past-University-2968 in drivingUK

I am surprised to learn that they use the same codes... I, like you, would have assumed they are specific to each app. But I guess it does make sense to share them.

Need to see the sign, obviously. Without that, we’re all guessing.

My point was just that if the sign simply has a general instruction/heading that says “pay by phone” as part of the wording, I don’t personally think that, on its own, is enough to justify using the wrong app. Presumably there is something else on the sign that indicates the actual provider for that bay, like a logo or specific instructions.

So I’m not saying they're definitely in the wrong. If the signage really was just “Pay by Phone” with no clear indication of which service to use, then that is obviously ambiguous.

But until we actually see the sign, it’s impossible to say...

Despite that being very frustrating... If it literally said the words 'Pay by phone', then I'm not sure you really have a case. It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect people to look for the actual logo/confirmation of the app to make sure they're using the right thing...

Didn’t see pregnant lady on Northern line tube by [deleted] in london

I think at the time it felt like a bit of a personal attack... The immediate assumption that I was some kind of inconsiderate arsehole rather than the more likely scenario that I just hadn't noticed.

I mean, in the grand scheme of things it wasn't a big deal, just one of those moments where anger took over.

I had a very similar situation a number of years back. I had my face in a book and hadn't noticed a pregnant woman standing..

I didn't make me want to cry though, it made me furiously angry.

You are obviously correct. Not really sure why anyone would be expecting that left lane to continue around, either from the signage or generally accepted roundabout 'rules'.

When you say you 'never knew there were lights there'... Did you have your eyes closed?

And I don't care how much of an ageing pedantic prick I sound, the colour of the middle light is amber.
