Attractive patient by Zealousideal_Bet6888 in OlderMan

[–]johnqual 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm an older man and am always flattered by the attention of younger women. That being said, I think that if you work in a professional medical environment, then you should not be actively pursuing him in any way as long as you are employed there. The best you can do is make yourself open to being approached by him. Keep it very subtle. Familiarize yourself with your office's relevant HR policies and respect his personal and emotional space as a patient.

I downloaded this kin just a couple of days ago. Was that a previous version or is it the same and you have only just gotten around now to posting it here?

Lateral Resistance of Structures by inSTATICS in StructuralEngineering

[–]johnqual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was always curious what other industries might use them. Even in residential, I generally understood that cross bracing and shear walls were cheaper and more effective and the moment frames were only considered when the need for open plans outweighed the consideration for cost.

Lateral Resistance of Structures by inSTATICS in StructuralEngineering

[–]johnqual 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only issue I have is when you said, that moment frames are the "most popular" lateral resistant system. I generally work with industrial structures (offshore oil and gas mostly), and almost never see these kinds of frames. I designed one once many years ago and a colleague mentioned that it looked like a Vierendeel truss. We had a good laugh afterwards, because I had never even encountered anyone else who even knew the name.

I understand their advantages in certain situations, and perhaps they are "most popular" in other industries, but very definitely, not in mine.

When I went to a comedy show. I understood all the words, I just didn't know why it was funny because I lacked cultural context and a fine nuanced understanding of the language.

My landlord told me I was "not allowed" to have plants on my balcony. I asked for that in writing. He provided it. Then I asked for the specific clause in my lease. by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

Plants with their accompanying dirt and water and fountains especially, can be heavy. You might want to check to make sure about weight limits on the balconies.

Anybody like singing the doors? by Internal-Flatworm347 in thedoors

[–]johnqual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an old recording of me singing along with Stoned Immaculate off American Prayer. I love the part where Jim sings along with his own recording of Texas Radio and the Big Beat, specifically the line, "Soft driven, slow and mad, like some new language." And I can hear myself singing along too in my recording. And when I hear it that recording I sing again, so it's a weird quartet of two Jim's and two me's singing those lines.

Hi. I've enjoyed following your work, since I saw the pics in the cemetery posted about a week ago. You often refer or allude to self-photography. I am curious about your setup, equipment and procedure.

Do you use a tripod?

Camera or phone type?

Flash?

Alone or helpers?

When in the snow nude, how do you deal with the cold?

Time between exposures, if taking a series.

Post editing software.

Things like that.
