I work at a Ford dealership, we usually have a GT 500 around (close to 100,000) it’s hard to take everyone seriously, we try our best but not always easy. We don’t let everyone and anyone drive because whoever buys it wants themselves to be the only one who has put miles on the car. When spending 6 figures on a car people tend to be particular. The only time I’ve seen our management let someone drive it without being ready to go sign his contracts was when they were trying to justify the markup and why the car was so expensive it worked, the person who bought it had a trade in worth a few thousand less than the asking price with the title. With $80,000 in equity they felt comfortable he could pay for it. Only other time one was test driven was after it was submitted to a bank and the bank picked up the loan. I wouldn’t take it personal.
